I don’t have a clue about alterations, but I do think this dress is beautiful as is!

i have not heard positive things about alterations at DB.  If you decide to buy from DB, i’d find another seamstress to do the alterations.

that being said, i’m cutting my neckline on my dress, and i’ve been quoted around $100 for altering from a straight to a sweetheart.  the price will vary depending on how much work has to be done.  so if the bodice has a lot of beadwork that needs to be removed and then replaced, that’s going to cost more than just cutting the fabric.  if you want to add embellishments on top of that, that stuff usually has to be done by hand so it’s going to be more labor-intensive.

my quote was $100 from two different seamstresses. $100 because i have beading along the neckline, or else it’d be only $50.
