I've never heard of that tradition before, that's different. Personally, I thnk that $400 is reasonable - but mine was about 3 times more.
i think that sounds like a good price.... but it's different for everybody.
interesting tradition. mine was $3200, but it has stones in it.... you will wear it forever. get what you want!
If you are uncomfortable ask your husband, maybe the best man could purchase a ring that is less costly and you could upgrade later? I'm not sure, but I do think in general that is a very reasonable price for a wedding ring- and obviously if that's the tradition then he's prepared for it...
We haven't bought ours yet but it's going to be in the $1000 range due to platinum and stones.
I think that tradition is interesting! I have NEVER heard of anything like it before that is for sure...but I think $400 is a very resonable price for a wedding band. Does he pay for your hubbys too?
Thats a really interesting tradition, I've never heard of that! (If we did that, I'd end up with a cracker jack wedding band, knowing my FI's best man!)
I voted "other" because I think that for some people, $420 would be way too much, while for others, $420 is a drop in the bucket. I'm not sure how to vote not knowing your family's or the best man's socioeconomic situation. Would you feel comfortable asking the best man how much he can spend on this (or maybe ask him to give you a range) before choosing the ring? Or maybe you can have your fiance ask him for you, if that is less awkward.
My fiance loved one that we found at Zales for 399 bucks.. found the same one online in several places for less that 100!
Amazon was a huge help for us, that's where we started. Then my FI found Perry Olsen's website. They make a lot of the rings.. very affordable!
is the best man, like, a brother or something? I'd probably ask for a VERY simple, plain band (cheap) then upgrade to something more expensive. I've feel very strange accepting a $400 gift from one of my husband's friends. Even from his family. The only people I'm OK accepting that expensive of a gift from are him and my parents, honestly.
omg I am love with that band!!! We paid like 700 for my ring, but it has diamonds in it, and is only white gold. i would say to get what you want, because your the one that has to deal with it!

So in my fiance's family it's traditional for the best man to buy the wedding rings. I am picking mine out now, but I'm afraid to pick one that is expensive, even though he said to get whatever I want.
Do you think this is too expensive?
