My DJ is the brother of one of my bridesmaids. He had agreed to do this for us early on. My fiancee’ asked him what he would like to be paid. He said for us to decide, he will be happy with whatever we offer.
Huh…I have no idea. We are on a budget but I want to compensate him ofcourse. He and his wife are also guests at the wedding…though I doubt he will have much time to play the part of a guest.
What would you say?

Well it depends on a couple of things, how long is he DJ-ing and how much can you afford?

Reception starts at 6:30..should wrap up before midnight.
Id say a few big bills..I suppose we could try and muster up a couple more if that’s way too cheap?

I’m paying $650 for my DJ for 6 hours and that’s the cheapest in our area (central Illinois). If I were you, I would decided on how much you want to pay him per hour (I’d probably say somewhere around $30, but i really don’t know). Is he bringing his own equiptment? That’s going to take time and a lot of work to set up. I would keep that in mind and try to calculate how much time he’ll be DJ-ing then how much time for him to tear down. It sounds like he will be happy with anything, so I’d give what you can without streatching your budget too much.
