- Wedding: August 2010
I’m on a budget, running out of money but I want to be fair on how much I spend on bridal party gifts.
I’ve spent $75 for each bridesmaid, $50 for each groomsman. The girls got a gorgeous Bath and Body Works tote bag with goodies and a $50 gift certificate to their favorite store. The guys will be getting a $50 gift certificate to their favorite sports store.
The kids are: two flower girls, one ring bearer, and an altar boy. They are the children of our matron of honor (my best friend) and our best man (my FH’s brother). One of the flower girls and the ring bearer are my MOH’s kids, and the other flower girl and the altar boy are the best man’s.
If I spent the same amount on the kids that I did on the adults, that’s another $200. Is it ok if I gave a gift certificate for them for $25?
For my MOH, I was going to give her one $50 gift certificate to Toys R Us for the two kids.
For our best man’s kids, it has to be two gift certificates b/c the boy is 11 but he’s practically a genious and too “mature” for a toy store or anything his little sister might like. So that would mean giving a $25 gift certificate for each of them separately. I think “Best Buy” would be a great store for him b/c he likes electronics. But what could he get at Best Buy for $25?
The wedding is in less than a week and a half, I feel like I don’t have time to get anything but gift certificates.
Will it look too cheap to give a gift certificate of $25? Or…any other suggestions?
