Tips stands for To Insure Proper Service…

So why don’t you wait the day of and see what they deserve?

(Gratuity was already included in our venue, so we didn’t worry about it.)

@conkin420:  what, were you at my venue? Lol ours suggested $3/$5 pp for the maitre D’ also.

Anyway, we tipped our vendors:

reverend-$100 approx 28.5%

hair/makeup 25% (approx $150, I paid for my cousin’s and a bm’s hair/makeup too)

band 9 piece (meal included for each band member at reduced vendor rate of  $35/ea plus $50 per member cash plus $100 for bandleader) cost total tip  $865

photog: $350

bridal attendant $100 (amount set by venue)

maitre d’-$800 (venue suggested $3-$5pp, we had 160 guests)

we had DIY centerpieces so no florist tip, we just tipped the delivery guy for bp flower delivery $50

photo booth operator-$150

approx total tips: $2565

I also wrote a cute thank you card to each to give the gratuity in so we  didn’t just hand a wad of cash over, except only one card for the bandleader,  not each band member.

@conkin420:  don’t take that as gospel! I always tip well and of course was so happy, and our vendors/staff were phenomenal all the way around.

If you don’t mind my asking, where is your wedding? We had ours at the Swan Club.

Oh and also, I heard many people don’t tip if the vendor owns the business–such as if they are DJ but own the company…I didn’t differentiate but you could cut costs that way.

@conkin420:  and we only had one photobooth attendant and one photog.  I had NO idea what to tip photog so I just guessed what a decent amount for an 8-10 hr day would be.

oh and I left off limo–we had a couple different drivers, one on the way, tipped $50, and three at the end because we paid for shuttle service for the hotel guests–so that was another $150 ($50/ea for 2 hrs of back and forth), or something like that! Our guests also tipped them since they were getting free rides in a limo back to their hotels so they made out OK!

@conkin420:  I hear you about worrying about forgetting–that’s why I did the card/envelopes the night before, it was way to hectic day-of to do all that and keep track.

I love the Watermill, that will be beautiful!

I would go by hours, if the photobooth is 4 hrs I would do like, $50-75 ea? We only had the one and he worked hard, making our album of strips and helping all the crazy people.

Photogs–I would tip less than I did if I had two, because they are splitting the load a bit. If they do a 10 hour day, maybe $200 ea? Depends on your budget, and your photography bill…so confusing!

@conkin420:  and you know what, all that planning and I was still so wound up when I had hair/makeup done that I totally forgot I had their payment in the card envelopes with the tip so I freaked out for 10 mins until I remembered! LOL

After that I was fine though.

I just asked DH, he said he tipped the bartenders (we had 2) but can’t remember how much.  Probably like $50-100 max.

@conkin420:  ah that sucks! If you want to change last minute, Kelly @ Glam Me Up is amazing, she does the makeup–Viviana does the hair, they are way reasonable and come to you.  Really nice girls.  I don’t recall a min–we had 2 makeup, three hair, or something like that–some of my girls were flaky and kept changing!
