generally, I think you tip $20-80 for wait staff and $40-100 for a bartender. (I would think the low end of those ranges because of your small group.
I didn't have to worry about this because tipping was included in our venue fees.

Okay, I am really confused by tipping, so here are my numbers:
We are only having two vendors, the caterer and the bartender (provided by our venue.) We are having a 30 person wedding and our catering bill will come in around $1300. There will be two staff members - one server and one kitchen staff. We are paying $160 for each of them which is in our contract. (But it also says "gratuity for staff not included.") We will have one bartender, with an open bar. We are paying $135 for our bartender plus drinks, 20% insurance fee and 8% sales tax. We estimate we will spend about $350 on the drinks themselves.
Based on these numbers, how much should I be tipping each person? Is it okay not to tip if they give bad service (worse case scenario!)
