Im pretty sure there was a thread like tha before.. but what a heck why not do another one :)

Im sure at one point we all found out how much is our E-ring.. So lets share it with others!

My FI went and bought the ring all by himself and he paid $5,000 for it.. I was not expecting him to pay that much.. But thanks honey :)

    I'm spoiled :)

He spent way more than I expected him to, and while I still feel guilty about it, he always tell me it was his "best investment".

Mine was $15,000.  It is a "Hearts on Fire" Solitaire- a 1.2 carat, simple and elegant, perfectly cut, VS.  I LOVE it!  It is quality, not quantity.

Let me just say I was so naive about the cost of diamonds before I got engaged lol. Mine was around $6,500.

I only see the pic of the box! Want to see what's in it pleeeease!! :) I went with my BF to tiffany and feel in love with Novo... but then got the impression than a 1 carat brilliant cut looks as big as a bigger carat cushion novo cut... what do you think?

I'm clearly in the minority, but neither my wife nor I wanted an engagement ring.  Each of us now has a wedding ring that it a plain gold band.  Our rings both have sentimental significance, and establish that we are "taken," which is really all we need.

I have one crappy pic of it that I took in the dark. I'll try posting that so you get an idea...

I'm not sure about how it looks in size compared to the other TIffany settings. I tried on many TIffany e-rings before this one when we were looking and yes, they are all beautiful but when I put the Novo on I was instantly in love. It is just so classic. The bead-set diamonds in the band at some MAJOR bling as well. And I preferred a cushion cut. The 6-prong TIffany setting just isn't my style. You can get a larger centre diamond for the same price in a setting with a plain band though.

@ 090711 -  Stunning. And I'm right there with you about the 6-prong setting for the round diamond, I just don't like it for some reason. I prefer 4 prong.

@kristij I love the uniquness( if thats even a  word..lol) of your ring. It might sound  cheap to some people... but it looks amazing and if the ring represents you thats all that matter!

@2dBride you know some times i like the idea of plain rings.. you dont even have to worry about losing the diamond.. Its always a great way to go

I didn't vote on the poll bc there was no choice that fit mine. My FI didnt have to pay for my engagement ring, it was his great great great grandmother's ring. He intended on just proposing to me with that ring and then letting me pick a ring of my own out but I am very frugal and didnt see the point in that. So instead things will be a little backwards for us, instead of finding a wedding band for the wedding I will be getting a different ring that would look to some as an engagement ring and then later on down the road if I chose I will get a wedding band. Which I may not because I am not a fan of a clustered look and enjoy then clean look of something simple, like just one ring.

Fi timed the market (he's in finance, this is the sort of stuff he does for fun) and managed to get a ridiculously good price for my 2ct F/VVS2 radiant solitaire.  I loooove it!!

Mine was around $2550. It's Tsavorite garnet with side diamonds, cast in platinum. I haven't received it yet, if you know whaddimean! It was within a comfortable budget for us, and we're very happy we didn't get something we'd have to finance. Our goal is to never be in debt!

We spent $250 on a synthetic alexandrite ring from the 1930s (he's a chemist so lab-made stones seem perfect - I want him to grow some tiny crystals for my wedding ring).  We picked it out together a few months after we got engaged.  It looks like an amethyst indoors but outside it's like a blue topaz, and it's big enough that my chubby fingers almost look normal.  I didn't want a diamond, and this was actually more than I was prepared to have him spend on a ring!  Though my jeweler said yesterday, "if that were a natural alexandrite, we could run away together to our own tropical island!" I was like umm, okay, I don't know if that's funny or creepy.

$500, baby! We're both in school and I didn't want him to go into debt for something that I didn't really care too much about, though he wanted to get something more expensive. I told him he can always get me a nice anniversary ring some day :)

It was free! It is a family heirloom.  The ring belonged to my maternal grandmother, who I was very close to.  However, the stone belonged to my maternal grandfather's aunt and my grandparents had it reset and added the wedding band when they got married in the 50s.  I'm so happy to have it!

I'm one of the "I have NO idea" people. I expressly told my fiance that I do NOT want to know how much this silly ring cost him. Also, it's a gift, and generally people remove price tags from gifts, so.

Mine was a little less than 20K. My FI splurged on my ring b/c I don't own or wear any other rings..nor do I plan to. Also, I am not really into the whole upgrading the ring thing. The ring he proposed with and the wedding band he places on my finger when we get married will be it. No upgrades. Also he is established and didn't have to go in debt or use any type of credit to purchase my ring...which was also important to me.

    Priceless.

In truth, I do know and I don't care. FH knows nothing about diamonds and went with "something sparkly and lovely that I thought you'd like" and that's all that matters to me.

I didn't vote bc I don't know exactly. I am sure it is in the 7-11k range, if I had to bet I'd say somewhere 8-9 but I don't know. Its a 1ct cushion cut (E VVS2) on a platinum pave band. Its similar to the novo but a slightly thicker band.

    also

@cherryblossom- cushion does definitely look smaller than round brilliant-- but i think its so worth it! I also think that cushion costs more/ct than round because its a fancy cut.  I love love love my ring and even if he could've gotten me a 1.3 round that would've looked a LOT bigger, I'd rather have my more unique cushion. :)

Mine was under $1000. I didn't want him to take on debt, nor did I want a diamond engagement ring. Claps all around.

(Though I am getting a diamond band. Pot, meet kettle).

I kind of have to agree with snake....

I'm not going to say how much he spent, just that it was a moderate amount. He spent what he had and could pay for up front. No debt. And I love it, it doesn't matter how much it was.
