I am hoping to lose another 15 # by 10/10... how much weight do you want to lose and how long do you have to lose it?

I am doing the P90X system!

I am hoping on about 15 more, at least. I'm down about 4 already. I have about 4 months to do it, so that is definitely a good amount of time to lose is the healthy way.

I'm just trying to watch my calorie intake, eat healthy and I'm going to start the Couch to 5K and I bought the 30 Day Shred too.

I am really set on trying to ignore the thinner is better messages and stay as I am.  Which is not model skinny, but pretty fit.  As much as I'm terrified of gaining weight, I'm also terrified of losing 10+ pounds and not looking like myself at my wedding.  Then spending the rest of my life staring at wedding pictures and thinking about how skinny I was for like three days ever.

That's a great outlook, Entangled. My goal is to generally get more fit and increase my normal activity level...I want to be at a healthy weight that I can maintain. Hoping to be there in a year, and I would probably be about 10-15 lbs lighter.

I kind of resent the insinuation that I'm just trying to lose weight for the wedding. What I failed to mention is that I have GAINED 35lbs since we got engaged. I am trying to get back to looking like myself.

I am not obsessed with my weight. I just want to be healthy and at the moment, I am not.

I agree - it really should be about being a healthy "you".  Although granted, part of the motivation does come from the fact that you want to look fantastic on your wedding day!

I am not so much about the losing weight as much as I am the tighten up my tummy.  I am down about 10 lbs from last year at this time, and I hope to lose about 10lbs. more.  Mainly though I want to tone up.

i've lost 25lbs so far. i'd like to lose another 20 or so. ive gained a lot of weight over the past 2 years, so the first 25 was pretty easy to lose. ive just been watching what i eat, and drinking water. ive slacked off a little in the past 2 weeks, but i was going to the park everyday and walking/jogging at least 2 miles....depending on the day, i would do more. i also started doing the 30 day shred.

I am trying to lose 5-10 more lbs. I got really off track for a while but have lost 3 lbs. so far. But even after the wedding I will try to stick with healthier habits. I'd like to be around 125lbs. I am 140lbs. right now. I am eating right and trying to tone up too.

about 10 pounds in 2.5 months... doable. but its less about pounds than inches for me. i want to tone up and loose the flab. and muscle weighs more than fat! lol so i would be content to lose 2-3 inches off my waist and 1-2 inches off my arms and legs. LOL totally doable

I have lost 11 lbs since May... Want to lose another 4-7 lbs, and I have 2 months to do it. The bigger thing for me at this point is toning up my arms.

5-10.  I'm trying to put as little pressure on myelf as possible.  Anything lost is a bonus.

I'm doing The Firm and watching what I eat.

@zippylef, you took the words right out of my mouth!  I was always trash-talking the MUST-LOSE-WEIGHT attitude that a lot of brides take because it seemed they were doing it just because society was telling them they had to.  Aaaaaaaaaand, then came the summer before my fiance's and my change to long-distance-relationship (about three months into our engagement), and suddenly there were goodbye dinners to go to, and we just HAD to squeeze in all his fave restaurants before he left!  And then my pants didn't fit.

I have about 5-10 more to go before October (already killed about 10), and I think it's doable.  I, too, would just like to look like I did when we were first dating -- and I'd love to fit back into some of my clothes!

I want to lose 18-20 pounds. Its what I weighed about 4 years ago, and I loved the way I felt and looked then. I have recently put on the weight so I hope it comes off quickly. We haven't officially set the date since we aren't officially engaged even (ha!) but we are talking February or March of next year so... 8-9 months... BAH!! So excited!!

Atkins (my body responds well to it and I have done it for a long period before) and Brazilian Butt Lift as well as an old Firm tape are my routine, starting today!!

entangled - i like that outlook. Be yourself.  I was looking at pictures on FB of someone I went to HS with and his normally very lovely wife lost so much weight before the wedding that she looked gaunt and uncomfortable in her own skin. Even if you hadn't seen before pictures, you would have thought something looked off. She just lost too much weight for her frame..

I can't gain A POUND with my dress and would like to be 145lbs before 9/18. After a month of moving house, goodbye dinners and shoving junk in my mouth I'm about 12 lbs from that goal. Just started Jilian Michaels 30 Day Shred again (completed it twice early in the year - Jan/Feb and was so much more toned, sigh) and will do it twice a day for the first 5-7lbs...wish me luck! :)

My wedding is on 10/10 as well.  I'd like to lose 10 lbs by then.  I just started C25K tonight and plan to do that along with lots of arm/upper body strength.

I just lost a lot of weight after getting engaged for a lot of reasons (illness, death in the family, etc.)  While I don't mind the "new me" I resent everyone assuming that it's tied to my impending wedding day.

I expect to lose about 10 - 15 lbs by Jan.

A daily walk and healthy portions of food would do good.

15lbs for me, but SO hard during the summer when there's so much going on!  Plus, with marathon training, you almost feel entitled to eat the bad stuff instead of a salad, you know?

I am hoping to shed about 20 pounds. I think that would be an absolutely amazing thing. I have been trying to lose this 20 - 25 pounds for like 6 years since I had my kiddo and I cant seem to stay motivated or on any type program

I would like to lose 5-10, however, it's SO HARD for me to lose weight, so I doubt it would be more than 5 pounds. However, my alterations are almost done and my dress fits perfectly (I pick it up next week).

What do I do??? I don't want to have to pay more to get it taken in later (if I do lose weight).

I feel like most brides (myself included) see the wedding as the time to loose that last 5 or 10 pounds. But all the marketing annoys the hell out of me. A wedding diet? Please explain to me what makes it different than a normal lifestyle change! It's all about the money and that gets old fast.

That being said, I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to look your best. I don't know about everyone else, but I've lost and gained the same 10 lbs dozens of times over. It's my last little hurdle and while I don't need to lose it to be happy on my wedding day, it's a nice goal to work towards, and it's something to think about when I don't feel like going the extra mile with our dog, or when the gelato counter looks tempting.
