    We got ours from mens warehouse.  We had a coupon..so the GM’s tuxes ended up being ~$200 each (a little less.. the coupon is for $40 off per GM) and my fiance gets a free suit (up to $500) to keep..which he can go pick out after all the GMs have paid for their rentals.

    However, we did pick out the higher-quality gray suits, which are more modern/fitted, since all of our GMs are slim. The “regular” black tuxes were slightly cheaper.

    Ours are about $190 and that was after a $40 discount code I think.

    I think $150-$200 is average in our area. The men’s tuxedos were a bit over $200 but they offered us a discount with a free groom’s rental. Most rentals offer a free groom’s tux if you rent a certain number (5?)

    We ordered from Al’s Formal Wear (they had way better customer service than Men’s Warehouse and slightly cheaper prices for the exact same suit).

    Ours were $130 (including tax) for a grey Ralph Lauren suit, vest, tie, shirt, socks and shoes. The same exact suit/items would have been $175 at Men’s Warehouse.

    @MrsBeck:  Ours were $169 each, which was a little higher than somewhere like Mens Warehouse BUT my husband preferred to go with a privately owned, mom and pop shop.

    Men’s Wearhouse. About $220 with the discounts I believe. I was surprised at the cost.

    @MrsBeck:  just picked out ours yesterday. $162.50 and that includes shoes. Groom’s tux is free and only has to pay for shoes. Our wedding is in downtown St. Louis, MO. The place we’re renting from goes through http://www.mytuxedocatalog.com 🙂 you could search locations!

    @MrsBeck:

    We first looked at Men’s Wearhouse… the cheapest they had to offer us was $139, and we didn’t like it.  The cheapest one we actually LIKED was $160.. Plus, the people there were incredibly unhelpful.  My FI had never had to choose a tux, and they offered no assistance at all, just kept asking “so… what do you want?”

    I REALLY don’t recommend Men’s Wearhouse. At all.

    So I talked to the woman at the bridal shop I got my dress from, who does business through Jim’s Formalwear… the cheapest tuxes they offered were $100, and our favorite was only $120! Plus, she gave us the groom’s tux free, and $25 off each additional tux because I got my dress through her! $95 for everything, and they look GREAT! 🙂

    We got our from Men’s Warehouse. I think they were one of the cheaper priced tuxes, so $130ish? Husband got a free rental with their rent 5 get the 6th one free, or whatever that promotion is/was.

    I would like to add that I have never been overly impressed with the my customer service experiences at Men’s Warehouse. When we went to select the tux and set up our wedding account there, we were literally ignored for fifteen minutes, and then another couple walked in and were immediatly helped. Needless to say I was a bit snooty by the time a guy sighed and walked over to us, but in our area it was the cheapest place to get tuxes. Sigh.
