Ours is done and over, but…

Guests: 55 (70 expected)

Venue/Open Bar/Food: $2050 (We had ours at a nice reception hall. We were married in the room on the dance floor, they set up after we were done. We were married in the off-season, which earned us a free open bar. We had to pay for a minimum of 70, but in reality, we had 55 guests).

Table & Chair Rentals/Lighting/Decorations/Centerpieces: $300 (including things like the ringbearer’s box, centerpieces, card box, flower petals, etc.)

Flowers: About $50 (artificial flowers)

Invitations: $120 (I bought 2 DIY wedding invitation kits for $40. I probably spent another $20 for ink, and maybe another $40 – $60 for postage. I’m also including the ‘thank you’ cards and their postage here).

Dress: $180 (Bought an ivory Prom dress at Deb.

Jewelry/Shoes, Accessories: $50 ($20 for the veil from Michael’s; $20 for bridal flip flops; $2 for an artificial wrist corsage, $10 for a bridal jewelry set. I’m a big fan of ebay, which is where I scored some sweeeet deals

Officiant: $0 (Had my brother ordained through the Universal Life Church, which is legal in my state. Originally, we paid a jerk $200 to do the same thing. Didn’t pan out.)

Photographer: Free (Cousin is a photographer)

Grooms suit: $300 (including ringbearer’s suit, which we paid for)

DJ: $400 (Tips only. My uncle’s band played live for free).

Cake: $125 (Got it at Walmart, serves 134 people).

Limo: $100 (We just had transport from our venue to our hotel at the end of the night).

Wedding night hotel: $150

Hair/Make-up: $20. Rather than having my hair done, I paid $10 for an artifical clip-in bun on Ebay. It matched my hair almost perfectly. I’d say I paid another $10 in make-up for my wedding and did it myself.

Other:

Honeymoon: About $1500 (we were fortunate – his uncle paid for our hotel room for the week as a gift. This price includes airfare, car rental for the week, and miscellaneous expenses. We reside in the Midwest and Honeymooned near Fort Lauderdale, Florida).

Rings: $130 (I paid $4 for mine on Ebay; he paid about $120 for his. Plain bands).

Totals…

UNDER $5,550

@dicapriosimaginarywife:  That’s my attitude. I refuse to spend more on one day than something I would wear over and over…
