I only take mine off to shower or if I'm rolling dough or cooking something else messy. Otherwise, it's on 24/7.
Can I ask why he doesn't want you to wear your e-ring, all of the time? And the band that you speak of, is that your wedding band?
I wear mine everyday, but I also wore mine everyday (on my other hand) for years before I met my FH. It's my grandmother's e-ring, which I inherited, but I started wearing when she passed to keep her close to me.
I don't know anyone who only wears their e-ring, sometimes. I'm curious why he would want such a thing.
I normally always wear my engagement ring - however - I just started a new job and I making IV's and I hate wearing my engagement ring under gloves, so I've started to wear just a plain band (not my wedding band but a solid gold band).
ALL the time. I only take it off when Im cooking with something sticky or messy or doing something with dirt. I keep it on even when I shower. Seriously, I wear them both, ALL the time. why wouldnt he want you to wear it??
Ohh sorry I reworded it. He said once we're married he only wants me to wear the ering some of the time. To me that doesn't make it any better... I just told him that I wanted to wear it all the time even when we're married and he told me to go ask the bees.
How come he prefers you to only wear it SOME of the time as opposed to ALL of the time? Like, does he think it has to be one or the other? (e-ring or wedding band)? I LOOOOVE my e-ring, and Id hate to not wear it all the time. Especially after the though, money, and meaning invested in it.
I wear my engagement ring and two wedding bands 24/7. Why keep pretty things in the drawer? =]
i usually just put mine on when i'm leaving the house. i don't like wearing it when i'm just laying around the house, sleeping, showering, cooking something messy.
Mine are soldered together so I wear them both. I'm considering getting a non-diamond band if we ever go on a trip with a lot of swimming or something since I don't want to wear the diamonds in the water.
I wear mine all the time. Hubs didn't spend tens of thousands of dollars on that puppy so it would sit in a box. The only time I leave it off when I leave the house is when I go to volunteer in the NICU because rings are germy and can scrath the babies.
I love my e-ring, but since the wedding I mostly wear my wedding band on it's own. They look great both on their own and together, but I just feel it's easier to wear just the band and I like the emphasis it puts on "hey I'm married now" :)
I don't wear it all the time because when I'm at home, I'm always cooking or gardening or cleaning or doing other messy stuff and I don't want it to get all gunked up. I wear it whenever I leave the house though ... well, until it recently stopped fitting due to pregnancy! Fortunately my wedding ring is a little bigger size and is still OK. :-)
Most women I know wear theirs all the time, though.
I never take my ring off. I leave it on in the shower, when I'm baking/cooking, swimming, gardening, sleeping - all the time!! It drives FH nuts when we're sleeping though because the claws are quite pointy and have scratched him multiple times when it comes in contact with his skin!

I wear both all the time. I have two friends who now wear just their wedding ring on their left hand and their engagement ring on their right hand.
It's only been a week and one day, but I've worn both rings everyday. :)
I never take my rings off! I wear my engagement ring with my 2 wedding bands every single day- I sleep in them, shower in them... you get the idea!
I always wear my rings together. I rarely take them off (to bake/cook messy things, painting, etc). For me, I love my engagement ring so much that I'd be sad not to see it everyday.
Do you have your rings insured? If you were robbed, the insurance would cover replacement.
I couldn't really select an option because temporarily I am not wearing any of my rings due to my pregnancy. Prior though, I wore my e-ring everyday with my wedding ring until it stopped fitting then I wore the wedding ring alone until neither fit.
I am hoping I can wear at least the wedding ring in the next few short weeks. I still feel naked without them.
I take all 3 of my rings off for the usual stuff - cooking, cleaning, showering. But, there are days when I wear just 1 of my wedding bands. If it's super hot outside, for instance - because my fingers get puffy and 3 rings takes up a lot of space on my finger and I always feel like it looks fat anyway. LOL. Or, if I'm more casual, I'll wear just 1.
I always wear my e-ring + wedding band. Probably always will unless I end up working in a lab like I'm trying to do now - not allowed to wear it under rubber gloves because it can poke through which would just be bad when working with bacterias and some chemicals.
I keep my wedding band on no matter what. The e-ring only comes off if I'm at home and doing some particularly messy chore.

Every day! Only take off my rings a few times a week at home if I'm using chemicals/cleaning or something. And when I put on lotion. That's it. :)
Why doesn't he want you to wear the e-ring daily??
I'm not married but I'm already sure of the answer: every day! I love my ring why wouldn't I wear it every day? Right now I only don't wear it if I'm sleeping (my hands swell and it hurts) or showering. When I'm married I expect the same... although I might wear only my wedding band to the gym bc my diamond clunks on the treadmill when i run and i have to turn it to the inside of my hand.

HAHAHAHAHA. I AM EMBARRASSED TO ADMIT, i thought this was going ot be about something else belonging on the INTAMACY board. hehe.
The reason is b/c he's afraid you're going to be mugged? Do you live in a bad area? Of course, make sure both your e-ring and your wedding band are insured, but that also doesn't help with your safety if he's concerned for that. Perhaps when you're walking somewhere, you can turn your ring so that only the band part is showing. That might help to ease his mind?
I also wear both my e-ring and band together all the time. My husband would probably be a little upset if I stopped wearing my e-ring.
I wear mine every time I leave the house. If he's worried about you getting mugged, personally what I've done is: if I don't feel safe, I turn the diamond towards the inside of my palm. So no one can really see the diamond, just the band, which ends up looking like a plain ring. I've only done this once or twice, but I don't think you need to take any further precautions, unless your occupation makes it inconvenient to wear it all the time.
(I'm not married yet, but I do wear my e-ring all the time and plan to do the same after the wedding.)
He thinks you're going to get mugged?? That sounds a little extreme... Where do you live?

How often do you wear your engagement ring?
That's the question my FI wants to ask. He wants me to occasionally wear the e-ring and wear a wedding band in its place when we're married.
