Once a week.  It helps to clean it often, before it needs it.  It only takes a minute that way.  My husband and I always fight to clean the bathrooms — the other person has to vacuum, and that is way more work.

We have the blue tablets that 9 times out of 10 keeps our toilets sparkling white. I’m OCD about them and I will clean them incessently until I am satisfied.

I clean our shower (glass) about once every four or five months since it takes a while for the soap scum to foggy the walls. I vacuum the tile once every week or so to get the dog hair off it and then I clean the sinks/mirrors as needed.

Once a week or every other week if I forget.

Once a week. Our cat drinks out of the toilet (I know it’s gross, but she refuses to drink out of a water bowl and always has) so I like to keep it relatively sparkly.

Hahah you must have had poop on the brain when you wrote the poll 😉

Twice a week and I wipe it down in between if it needs it

Never. FI does it for me or the housekeeper when we hrie someone to clean the place for us (which we do every so often when we feel like it needs a better cleaning than we can do). But, he doesn’t do it as often as I’d like and it looks pretty gross pretty quickly. :/

It’s only used by me, so it doesn’t get very dirty, especially because I don’t use it a ton as it is during the week when I’m at school. I clean it about every three weeks, and it’s not like it’s filthy by then.

Omg! You took this right out of my mind! I was cleaning my toilets yesterday and thought to myself – I should make a poll!

I clean all my bathrooms at once, usually in a free afternoon…. WAY less often than I feel like its necessary. Lysol everything & scrubby bubbles for the tub. I usually get inspired when I am so repulsed by one particular toilet or sink that I must take action but life often gets in the way… so embarassed

Depends. It averages out to probably once every 2 weeks or so, in terms of a full clean (toilet bowl cleaner in the bowl, brush it out, spray the outside of toilet, seat and lid with cleaner and wipe down). I’ll maybe brush out the toilet also every other week between full cleanings (just with the brush, not with any cleaner).

I’ll make sure to do it if we’re having guests over, or if it’s starting to look grimy (sometimes it goes a little longer between cleanings thatn usual).

TMI – I also have a very sensitive stomach, and get sick often. Sometimes even just one glass of wine can set me off (about 1 in 20 times), and there’s a lot of foods I LOVE that can give me an upset stomach (movie theatre popcorn is a big one, probably 1 in 10 times), or even if I eat just a little bit too much I’ll get sick. If I plan on eating one of my trigger foods, or a large meal or if I plan on drinking I’ll make sure the toilet is clean before, since throwing up in a dirty toilet is just gross. Also, when I had surgery I was sick for a few days after and FI made sure the toilet was cleaned every day.

My answer? Almost never. DH does most of the bathroom stuff. He’s funny about toilets. I am not, unless they are absolutely disgusting. I am funny about kitchens… my kitchen and dining area must always be spotless.

My reasoning? You prepare food and eat in those areas. They have to be clean. Really clean. All I do in the bathroom is clean myself, pee, and ****. Not that interested in that side of things, unless the loo is so filthy that it might actually give me a disease, LOL!

Not as often as we probably should. Probably once a month, or if we’re going to have people over. It doesn’t get horribly dirty during that time, IMO. When it does get done, my husband does one bathroom and I do the other.

Toilets are so easy to clean (and keep clean), and germ-wise aren’t even close to as nasty as the kitchen sink.

For the record, I HATE cleaing toilets

So it was easy to VOTE – I FEEL LIKE I NEED A HAZ-MAT SUIT (lol)

On the otherhand it is a chore that needs doing… so I also voted for other options on your multi-vote poll.

QUICK SWISH VS A TOTAL CLEAN

HORRID CHORE – WOULD SO PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT

And I DON’T DO IT AS OFTEN AS I SHOULD (lol, in that Mr TTR probably does the loo more than I do)

We don’t have a schedule per se… but we give it a quick “swish” whenever we feel it needs it (ala The Flylady Method = http://www.flylady.net altho she advises daily)

I also agree with @Hyperventilate:  using the blue-tabs is a useful way in keeping the need to clean down…

Full spray down outside of the bowl, probably once ever 7 to 10 days.  Lol, when we are getting lax on housekeeping, Mr TTR & I are prone to “make a date” for company… nothing gets one into the mood for a thorough houseclean like people coming over.

    Hope this helps,
