I am always not sure how often I should clean my ring.

I clean it with windex almost once every week! Is that too much? I just feel like my ring gets dirty quick! haha...

Is it okay to clean it that often?

I clean mine everyday or everyother day with my toothbrush and then about once a week I soak it in amonia.  thats what gets all the gunk off of it.  I probably clean mine more than I should and I am sure at some point it will changebut I love to see it sparkle and when its dirty it shows!!!

I throw mine in the dip every day while I shower. When we get an espresso maker I am going to use the steamer to clean it- it does practically the same thing the professional jewelers do but this way I will also have yummy coffee.

I clean mine about once a month in the jewelry solution from the store.  There's lots of little nooks and crannies so I make sure to scrub it good with the brush so it sparkles next to my brand new wedding band.  I will have to go get it re plated though since you can see the discoloration of the white gold band next to my wedding band since its 2 years older

I clean it with a toothbrush every few days (or more...or less depending on when I think of it and if I notice it looks dirty) and I have one of those steam cleaners for jewelry that I use if I know we are going out or I want it to look extra sparkly. That sucker is awesome!

You might want to be careful about scrubbing rings if they're gold.  Because it's such a soft metal it will leave very fine marks, and eventually it will take away from the shine.  Cleaning solution is probably safer.

I take it in for a professional cleaning every six months. I clean it at home in jewelry solution probably about twice a month or so.

Once a week, with jewelry cleaner from the jewelry store. It comes with a little strainer/agitator thingie so I do that, and then sometimes use the tiny brush to clean the diamonds.

I have had it cleaned professionally twice in the last ten months but I have yet to clean it myself.  It just doesn't seem to get that dirty.

I clean everything (e-ring, eternity band I wear on right hand, and diamond stud earrings) everyday in jewelry cleaner, but clean them with windex once a week.  Windex is the best way - it gets them so sparkly clean!

I spray them all with windex, let them soak for about 2 minutes, put them in a bowl of hot water to wash the windex off and dry with a hair dryer.  Like new!

Thanks for reminding me, I want to clean my ring.  I dont do it often enough, I think the last time I did was a few months ago.  I have the solution the jeweler gave us but Id also like to go in and have it professionally cleaned soon.

I clean mine before I do something important, like if me and FH go out.  Or I cleaned it before the shower and bachelorette party.  That kind of thing.  I just use a little warm soapy water and a baby toothbrush.  The toothbrush is really to get under the main diamond, not for the gold.

I clean mine when I'm going somewhere special or seeing someone fr the first time since getting engaged.  I always mean to clean it more and love how bright and sparkly it looks after...but I'm absentminded and am lucky I remember to even put it on (which is why I never take it off!!)

I've only cleaned mine properly once since I got it 6 months ago. It made SUCH a difference so I figure I'll do it once a month just to keep it looking good. Probably should have done that from the start.

First time in sonic cleaner last week when I went to price my wedding band (engaged since May). It was clean, but just as sparkly as my at-home method. I clean it whenever I remember/it starts looking grimy. Been meaning to try windex method. So far have been using baking soda (I use baking soda to clean pretty much everything, it's that awesome) and a soft brush. Baking soda is fine for my platinum/diamond ring, and is also fine on gold, but not on softer stones.

About once a week on average, maybe more if we're going out and it isn't looking it's sparkly best

I've been scared to clean mine, so I haven't. I just wash my hands with soap and water with the ring on, but I've read this can actually reduce the shine?

It's from Tiffany's and I live fairly close to one, so they said I can just bring it in for complimentary cleaning whenever I'm in the area. I haven't done that yet either, but I will before the wedding so it's shiny in any photos.

mikan - soap probably reduces the shine because it leaves a nice soapy film on the surface of the ring.

@JoJo Bananas - yeah, I figure. I'm afraid to take OFF the ring before I wash my hands though in fear of losing it down the sink! I should buy some jewelry cleaner. I'm afraid of scratching the actual ring if I use a soft toothbrush - the metal is platinum which I'm told (and have seen) scratches easily.
