So I got my hair cut in like.... November?
I cut it all off for pantene beautiful lenghts so it was pretty short. Anyways, its starting to grow out and I want to donate it again after the wedding, so I wanna keep it healthy!
How often do yall cut your hair? What is healthy?
I think every 8 weeks is what's recommended. But it probably depends on your hair and the cut.
Its all one lenght except for a face frame... I probably need one. Its been longer than 8 weeks lol
When it's long, every two months or so. But I'm trying to grow out a pixie cut (almost at a shaggy/bob type length YAY!) so I haven't had it cut since October, and won't cut it again for probably 6 months or so. I do trim my own bangs every few weeks though.
Until I started to grow it out, I got it cut EVERY month. I'm actually surprised this isn't an option in the poll! Am I crazy?! I did have fairly short hair and it grows really fast. Sometimes I got it cut even more often! But right now it's been two months (although I did go in for a bang trim), and it feels SOOO shaggy. I'm trying to be patient because I don't want to lose all my growth!
I think youre supposed to get your haircut every 8-10 weeks but I will go several months (I vote 3-5) before getting it cut
Yeah, I've heard "6 to 8 weeks" but... I haven't actually done that in a while. I just got my hair trimmed on monday and it had been since September/October last time... Oops.
EVERYTIME I say I'm going to come in once every other month like I'm supposed to, and EVERYTIME I wait until I have a head full of split ends and then wait another month

I tried really hard to go every other month (every two months) for a little while- and that lasted... two months. :/ I go every 6 months and they make fun of me! :/
My level 4 Aveda lady told me 12 weeks is what I should do. :/ I hate paying for anything, I think that is what it is! And I just hate getting my hair cut- sitting and having people touch me. My lady is cool though.
I've heard it's every 6-8 weeks too. I've been known to go up to 6 months without a hair cut though...
I just recently got it cut before our engagment photos in May, and then didn't cut it again until just before Christmas.
I cut my own hair so I cut it whenever I'm bored or I've had a few bad hair days. I haven't cut my hair in months though because I was told to grow it out for the wedding! It's hard to stay away from those scissors!
I should cut mine more often, but it is really slow growing so I usually just 'dust' any splits and get a trim every 6months or so.
For years and years I've only gotten my hair cut every 6 months. Haircuts are insane expensive, IMO, and I don't want to pay an arm and a leg any more often than that! :)
I cut mine every 3-4 months, usually once I notice that combing it through is getting a bit knotty at the ends. I've been growing it out for 5 years now, so I'm not so concerned about keeping up a 'style' so much as just keeping it healthy and long, and I don't mind having a half inch cut off each time I do eventually get in to the salon.
Usually between 3-6 months... But if I dye my own hair sometimes I even go longer... I'm terrible. But I'm going to try and get my hair cute more regularly while getting my hair in shape for the wedding!
I get it cut ever 6-8 weeks. LAst time I got it cut though, my "trim" became SEVEN inches. My hair was at my elbow... and I'm getting married in four months.
about every 6 months. i usually end up waiting until my ends are fried...not good! i HATE paying $50+ just for them to trim an inch or two off, especially when all i have is just a straight cut.
Normally every 6-8 weeks but for the wedding I am stretching it out a lot. I just got cut and colored couple of weeks ago (it was over 4 months since last cut and color) and won't get a cut again until right before our wedding in June. The color I do have an apt in April but may cancel and wait that out again until right before the wedding
You guys are making me feel like I need to go get a haircut right now! I haven't had my hair cut since maybe August or September, but I got highlights (no cut) in November since I was going to a wedding and had to squeeze in an appointment.
Never! Seriously, my hair grows unbelievably slow and if I cut it there would be none left. I straighten my hair and get highlights so it just kind of breaks off once it gets past a certain point, although it has always been pretty long (mid-back length). It doesn't look bad either; in fact, I consider my long blonde hair my best feature. Once every few years I might let my mom stand me in the bathtub and "dust" my ends if she complains enough but I try to avoid it!
I chose once a year.. but it has been a bit longer than that. I had a bad experience a couple years ago and got a amazingly bad haircut, so I got that fixed. Then I moved, and have been too chicken to go get my hair cut again. I need to find a stylist though, its getting out of control.
It varies--I have long, long hair that I take good care of, so I get a trim maybe once every three months or so.
During the winter when my hair is longer (bobbed), every other month. During the summer when it's short (cropped), every 3-5 weeks. Expensive habit here in DC too!
Normally, every six weeks. I have short hair, and any longer than that and it has no shape. However, it's been about 3 months since a cut and color since I've been laid off, and it's not a good scene. A headband is my best friend right now.
Well I haven't gotten my hair cut since July, but this inspired me, so I have an appointment this afternoon!
I have far too much gray for my age, so I get my hair professionally colored every 8 weeks (I'd go every 6 if I could afford it). I get a trim every time I color it to keep it "clean" since my hair seems to grow unevenly.
I've been putting off getting my hair cut for so long. I've probably been saying "I really need to get a trim" for TWO MONTHS! I'm ridiculous. I don't know why, but I just hate getting my hair cut. My hair is a few inches past my shoulders right now and is starting to get a little out of control. I'm trying to convince myself to go in tonight after work and finally get it trimmed. We'll see ;)
I always wait WAY too long. I think I last got my hair cut in maybe August? Part of the reason I don't go more often is because I have yet to find a stylist I just love, another part is how no matter where you go they are telling you that your hair is dry or frizzy or thin or whatever to try to sell you some sort of product. Shoot my hubby went for a cut the other day and the dude tried to tell him, "Hey man you're getting thin back here." We were both like WTF?! because my guy has some super thick hair with zero signs of thinning.
I usually wait at least 3-4 mo. and my hair grows fast so a few inches come off. I'm trying to get in he habit of getting it trimmed more often.
Honestly can't remember the last time I had a haircut. I do need to get some split ends trimmed off. It's almost belt-length though, so I doubt anyone would even notice.

I used to dye it a lot and finally buzzed it (1/8") to grow it out my natural color. I think I did that around November of '09. I've cut in bangs a few times since then, but nothing has been done to the overall length.
My hair is a few inches past my shoulders. It grows faster than the average rate of 1/2" a month.
My hair grows super fast so every six weeks it what I do. You're supposed to do it every 6-8 weeks to avoid split ends and the growth slowing down.
I usually go every 6-8 weeks, but that is because mine is colored, so I get a touch up on the color and a trim to get off the split ends. It's good to cut off those often because they will just split and break off, anyway, making it harder to grow out your hair.
I usually get it trimmed/thinned every other month if I get around to it
