I'm with you Lillindy. We hardly EVER go! He would always rather watch a sporting event on tv. :)
That is funny, pretty much every movie that FI and I want to see we will go see it at the movies; so we usually find ourselves at the theaters twice a month. In the winter months (between Jan-Apr) no good movies are ever out so we tend to go less then but more during the summer and right before the holidays. For us, dinner and movie nights are just one of our "date nights," it's cool to just go out on Friday night and do that with my FI and then sit and snuggle and much on gummi worms... I just love it :)
We used to go all the time, but lately there hasn't been anything out we've wanted to see. We were also so busy with the wedding that we didn't have time. And we just can't justify spending $10 per ticket! We watch a lot via Netflix and our DVR.
we rarely go to the movies, but we watch them all the time at home. mostly red box or netflix :]

We probably go once every 2-3 months. Our local theater has $5 movies on Sundays, so we usually try to go then!
we go rarely to the movies but are HUGE dvd watchers (we have a 65" plasma plus luxury leather cinema seats at home-with cup holders no less, hubby picked them out of course)
but we are going to the movies this friday - gold class (ie seats just like home but with wait staff) to see Harry Potter and im pretty excited about that
We watch movies at home a lot, but we only go to the movies a couple of times a year. We tried to go see The Hangover yesterday, but we had the time messed up. I took Lil to see Ice Age 3 on Thursday.

We watch alot of movies at home. So Im in the 2-3 times a year
@eloping - if we had a 65" home theater I am sure we would be DVD watchers more often too! Ours is only 50" or something, boo. Problem is that we can't sit down for a whole movie at home and not get distracted! It usually takes us starting it and stopping it 3 different times to make it through the whole movie! Weird, I know :)
Definitely with you on that one! By the time you buy tickets and even if you just get something to drink you're going to spend $30. We do go to the $1.50 show once in a while. It ends up being $10 with pop and popcorn. We like to just rent movies off the TV mainly. You don't have to take em back and they cost the same as renting. Plus I would so rather lay on the couch and cuddle then sit in chairs with 489273487 other people.
Pre-engagement, we'd go a 2-3 times a month. That dropped to about once every 2 months. I have a feeling it'll pick up again now that the wedding is over.
Ordinarily, my fiance and I don't really go to the movies all that often (maybe 3 times a year). But since the release of Terminator and Transformers, we have been going to the movies more often. We generally go to the first showing to get a significant discount at the matinee price. It's definitely worth waking up early knowing that you are one of the first to watch a new release.
I love going to the movies, but my fiance isn't a fan... so I usually just wait it out (cheaper, too, but they have better popcorn than I can make at home)
We used to go more often than we do now, but we still go fairly often because we still both live with our parents and it's one of the easiest ways to get out together. =D We go maybe once every two months now, but we used to go more like twice a month.
I love going to the movies! But unfortunately, Mr. Quiche tends to equate them with a petri dish, so we don't that often. Plus, it is ridiculously expensive in the city! I go with my girlfriends quite a bit!
We love going to the movies! The AMC, at least here, has a deal where movies are only $5 before noon on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so we make a morning date out of it and go for brunch first then hit up the theater! We don't go that often, maybe 1 a month, but at least this way it's a cheap date, haha.
Depends on what's playing - lately we've been going 2-3 times a month, but most of the years it's closer to once every few months (we rent a lot).
When we do go we buy tickets through CAA (Canadian equivalent of AAA) at a discount, it's great! We also have a drive-in nearby, which is awesome - two movies for only a few bucks more than we'd pay at the regualr theatre!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE going to the theatre, but Mr Frenchie likes watching them at home more. We compromise and go to the movies every once in awhile, but most when I go to the theatre w girl friends :)
I *love* going to the movies and would see just about anything in the theater. The Hubs likes, but doesn't love the movies and thinks they're over priced. As a result, I probably go to the movies once or twice a month-usually with my sister. We go as a couple MAYBE every other month--more in the summer when more movies are coming out.
Actually I think my FI and I have probably been to the movies 3 times over 5 years? Every once in awhile I'll go to the movies with my girlfriends, but that may be be once or twice a year. I went and saw My Sisters Keeper a few weeks ago, but before then I hadn't been to the movies since Christmas. My FI and I are going to Boston for our honeymoon and we're excited to be able to go to an IMAX theatre! Neither one of us has been as we dont have an IMAX near us.
We're on the 2-3 times a year boat as well and only when it's a movie we are REALLY looking forward to. And then even then it's disappointing because the graphics at theaters are so horrible and for two people we end up spending way over $50. It's ridiculous!We do a lot of DVR & Netflix as well. :)
P.S. We have a kick a$$ home theater system too. 60" Sony HDTV, Sony Surround System w/PS3 Blu Ray. It's our baby and you betcha we made sure it's covered under homeowner's insurance! =P With a setup like that who wants to go to the movies? :)But in all seriousness we were only 2-3 times year even during our college years with our teeny itty bitty TV.
P.S. I Love Drive Ins as well! There's one near us and we go maybe once during the summer just for the fun of it! Never been before I came here for school....not much space for drive ins in NYC. ;)
We go to the movies all the time! Probably 2-3 times a month we will go. We go to get out of the house in particular. My husband goes stir-crazy if he stays home too much.

My husband looves movies so if there is something good that he'd like to watch we go to the movies. I also love movies, I like watching at least one every week. But I'd rather rent than go to the movies. So when there is nothing good showing or we're just tired, we rent a movie.
FI goes without me or with his friends a fair amount. I have a hard time sitting still for the 2+ hours that most movies run, my butt falls asleep! 
Any movie I want to see we usually wait for Netflix.

I love going, FI does not, despises it, it's like pulling teeth asking him to take me. I usually say I'll just go alone, but then he gets upset! Hehe, well what am I to do? I do not have the willpower to wait for the movies to come to DVD, I must see them opening day!
We probably go once or twice a month. We usually only go if there's something we really want to see or someone suggests a movie to us. I don't think my FH has been too keen on going ever since I dragged him to see Madagascar 2 (yes, I love animated movies) and some kid threw up on him! Now, we can't ever go without him saying "Remeber the time..."

I go maybe once or twice a year. My hubby and I feel like for the price of two tickets, we could just buy a movie! How about the rest of you, how often do you go to the movie theater?
