I’ve realized that I cannot even walk past the infant/toddler sections in ANY store now because I will stop for way too long and stare at things.. I have an obsession with having a baby. I literally cannot wait. Even though my fi and I are at least 4 years away from trying…. Most of my friends tease me about it quite often.. And those jerks won’t even go with me and indulge in starting at adorable little baby clothesssss!
How about you, Bees? Don’t leave me hanging here alone in this awkwardness! XD

Can’t vote. You need a “Never” option!

It comes and goes every few months, but it lasts a while when I do have it. I don’t think anything specifically really triggers it for me though. Just happens.

@happilyeveraftergirl: Probably once a month. I am still in graduate school for my MS in Genetic Counseling so I see a lot of crazy pregnancy/baby things that make me go NOPENOPENOPE but all of my FI coworkers wives just had babies and he seems pretty ready to go. We are thinking another three yearsish just so we have our dream home but whenever my FI shares a cute story or mentions how excited he is to have kids I get giddy and sunsequently read all of the pregnancy boards on here hahahaha

WOAH, HOLD UP THERE! lol my vote is for “NEVER!!!!”

I don’t fit any of those. I guess my answer is, “A few times a year when I see the rare combination of a kid who is beyond adorable and impeccably well behaved.”
I went to my cousin’s kid’s birthday the other day, and they have a new baby everyone was fawning over and talking about how wonderful babies are. Obviously I said very nice things, but in my head I was like, “Eh, he’s ok.” I have a young niece and nephew, so I think I get my kid fill from them.
I know I want to be a mom, but pregnancy and babies are never something I’ve been really interested in. I’ve always wanted to adopt, but my FI really wants biological children. I love him enough that I’m willing to do it for him, but if it were only me it would be adoption all the way!

I’m a nanny, and when I am working I don’t really ever get the itch because even though I love my job and the kids I work with and know I want kids someday, they let me see the annoying side of having children 🙂 I get the itch when I’m around kids when I don’t actually have to take care of them. For example, my SO’s niece (18 months) was at Thanksgiving last week. She was so well behaved and adorable, and suddenly I wanted to have kids right away. Then I went back to work on Monday and was reminded that they aren’t always so adorable LOL.

I couldn’t vote because I only think about it every few months…and the desire is quickly squashed any time I go out to eat and hear screaming babies! I know I will want my own…but it is going to be a loooong time before I do, at least another 5 years or so. FI and I want to enjoy the finer things in life before we sacrifice a great deal of it to raising children.

Yeah, go ahead and add that “Never” option.

@happilyeveraftergirl: when I’m around babies I want one, when i see cute baby stuff I want a baby, I’m there…

I’m turning 30 in 2 months. Both of my SILs are pregnant right now. DH and I have been married for 18 months. My baby itch is ridiculous at this point. I spend huge amounts of money to spoil my niece and nephew and two future nephews and I have now purchased a few baby things for myself that are stashed under the guest bed. I’m embareassed to even type that out.
We are at least two years away from starting IVF. My baby itch will be insane by the time that rolls around.

Every other month or so, lol! A handful of my friends either just had a baby or are pregnant currently. Two couples I know are ttc, so it’s a bit of a baby overload at the moment.
It’s sort of weird though, both FI and I want kids really badly, and will ttc within the next 1.5-2 years or so, but I am more excited about the being pregnant part. I just find it so interesting. I feel like it will be something amazing (and also crazy) thing to experience. I dunno, I guess I’m a weirdo, haha. Does anyone else feel that way?

@happilyeveraftergirl: I’m right there with you– I could seriously spend hours in the baby section! We are planning to try starting in August but I don’t know if I can wait that long since babies are always on my mind.

I’ve been wanting to have a baby for the last few years. Currently, I think about it daily but it seemed to be seasonally at first and slowly became worse and then it waned for a little bit and now it’s back fierce.
