How often do you leave bad reviews?

When one is deserved. I haven’t had to write too very many because I research my pruchases well and use trusted sellers only, but once in a while I either don’t do the leg work or I have a bad experience even though I did. For example, I once bought a living social deal for a baking class. I repeatedly called and emailed the place to schedule, but to no avail (no one answered either, and the voicemail was full). After trying nearly every day for a couple weeks, I had no problem leaving a review to warn others not to waste their money on something they’d probably never receive.

ETA: I leave good reviews when deserved too, escpeically if a business or product doesn’t have a lot of ratings.

I leave bad reviews if something was flat-out done incorrectly & there was no effort made to correct the issue.

cls9q:  Very rarely, but if a place really deserves it, I’ll give it. I have given maybe 2, ever?

One was for a friend’s wedding photographer who did the most truly awful job I have ever seen. The pictures were out of this world terrible, he was rude, and his cellphone went off during the ceremony (I forgot to add that last bit in my description). So it pretty much takes someone being that bad for me to leave a negative review.

cls9q:  Something has to be really terrible for me to even take the time to write a review, so not very often. I’m not the type to cause a fuss.

I leave bad reviews whenever a business shows that they do not care about resolving an issue.  Thankfully, this has not happened very often.  I left a bad review for a car mechanic after my check engine light “mysteriously” turned on during an oil change and inspection, and then acted condescendingly and treated me as if I knew nothing about cars.  I also left a bad review once for a restaurant with the worst service I had ever seen.  It took us 10 minutes to be seated in a half-empty restaurant, then we sat there for another 25 minutes before we left.  They hadn’t even taken our drink orders yet, that’s how crap the service was.  Out of curiosity, I checked that restaurant’s Yelp page recently and all of the reviews were pretty much the same as mine about the service.  Makes me wonder how they are still in business.

ETA: For fun, I just checked the Yelp page of the mechanic I reviewed, and found out they have closed down.  I know that I shouldn’t be so happy about a business closing, but they were a bunch of lying jerks.

I leave a bad review if I have brought the issue to the attention of the person in charge, and no effort was made to correct the problem, or that person denied the problem existed.

If I am unhappy or have been wronged, I will leave a bad review. I don’t give a shit if their owner is poor, broke or pregnant — You stay broke and poor because you provide a shitty service. I vote with my wallet. A company has no incentive to get better if people keep tossing money at them.

cls9q:  It has to be truly awful service. I am pretty laid back and will let most things slide. I recently left a bad review for a hotel we stayed in when FI and I went to Disney. It was a terrible, terrible time. I always check reviews, first, though, so that’s why I try not to write one in the heat of the moment.

cls9q:  I think I’ve only ever left one and that was years ago. It was at a restaurant and a friend and I were given horrible service. I was a server at the time and was overly patient with other servers because I knew shit happended sometimes, but the server was rude, dismissive, slow, and messed up our order constantly. I wouldn’t be against leaving one again if it was truly deserved.

You know what? Not as often as I should! My FI and I had a terrible experience with a hotel and I wanted to leave an honest review on Trip Advisor but I never did it. At first I left it because I wanted to make sure it was done fairly and calmly but the longer I left it the more I thought “Why bother?”

Also we recently ordered FIs wedding ring and when it came it was so flimsy and thin, it looked like it would easily snap. We sent it back and I’ve been wondering if I should write a review on the site. Just to give other potential buyers a head-up.

Mistakes are OK but I will leave a bad review if they were difficult to work with or flat out refused to help resolve the issue.

I enjoy leaving good reviews. I once had a couple bartenders that were excellent, made amazing drinks, made conversation, remembered our names, general great service. They went above and beyond just what their job description was. I left a great review and got a response from their manager that they would be rewarded for their efforts. It made me feel really good because they deserve it.

I’ve left 2 bad reviews that I can remember. Both were times when it was really deserved. And I’m usually quick to give people the benefit of the doubt. Once at a restaurant, the meal I ordered, the meal I was served, and the meal I was billed for were three different meals and I didn’t even speak up, I just ate what they gave me and paid for what they asked. Everyone’s human, y’know? But I will gleefully leave a bad Yelp review for businesses that are truly terrible, to save other customers from having the same experience.

I frequently leave bad reviews bc customer service is non existant in Denmark. If I don’t tell them, who will?
