    I usually do it every six months. I go to the dentist every six months and get a toothbrush there.

    I think a good rule of thumb is to buy a new toothbrush every time you get a new tube of toothpaste.

    I go to the dentist every year and get a new one then. I’ve never found mine to be worn enough to warrant concern before then. Maybe soft bristle vs. hard bristle plays a role?

    I’ve heard every 3 months but the thought of all the bacteria on it makes me cringe, so I do all of ours every month!

    I definitely brush too hard, but I’ve had a hard time changing the habit. If I brush lighter, I feel like I’m not getting my teeth clean enough, even though I know that’s not necessarily true. I have to replace every month to two months.

    Every month. Anything longer seems gross to me.

    Whenever the bristles start bending. Not really sure how often that is. I occasionally soak it in Listerine to kill bacteria.

    Every month is actually fine, but dentists recommend every 3 months. And yes brushing too hard can damage the tooth enamel. Just be sure to always buy soft bristle toothbrushes.

    I have one of those electric ones where the battery dies when you’re supposed to replace it… so I just do it then. lol

    @strawbabies:  That’s what we’ve always done.

    There is a radio personality in town who has said he uses a new toothbrush every time he brushes his teeth so he’s using 2-3 a day. That’s a bit much, IMO, but I’m sure it’s better than not changing it frequently enough.

    I read on a toothbrush wrapping to change it every three months, so I try to stick by that, or when my toothbrush gets worn.

    I bought a Violight UV toothbrush sanitizer about a year ago after seeing an ad for their egg shaped ones, so I stick my toothbrush in there about once a week to sanitize it. I assume it works, makes me feel better about my toothbrush anyways!
