Ok bees, I have a question for you. I only wear my ring outside the house for a few reasons. 1) I don’t normally wear jewelry at home (to keep things safe, if I’m at home it’s in my jewelry box plus I just don’t like to wear jewelry at home), 2) I’m terrified of harming this ring (FI called it ridiculously expensive) so I feel it’s safer in my jewelry box and 3) it leaves this awful mark on my finger so I want to give my finger some time without it on. I was speaking with my mom and FMIL and they both were absolutely apalled that I take it off my finger – my mom even yelled at me. To be honest, I never thought this wasn’t the right way to go as I’ve always done this with jewelry. The more sentimental the piece, the faster it goes into the box.
What about you? Is my obessive taking it off normal? Is this maybe a generational thing? Do your parents take off their rings?

I never take mine off. I’d probably start freaking out and thinking I’d lost it if I ever did.
My dad never wears a ring (when my parents got married, he had a job where he couldn’t and, even though he could now, he just doesn’t) and my mom doesn’t take hers off.

I wear my ring 99% of the time. I only take it off to shower, put on makeup, and cook.

@catwoman1701: Mine spends more time off my finger than on. I wear it out of the house and the only time I really wear it in the house is when I start reading things about rings on WB and I think “Oh, I have to see it now!” lol. It doesn’t mean anything that you take it off. It’s a ring, not a shackle. Do what makes you comfortable and ignore your overreacting family.

I take mine off at night and whenever I’m washing the dishes/cleaning/using hairspray/etc. Other than that, it’s on!

I never take mine off! And mine was also shockingly, horrifyingly expensive.

I take it off very frequently because it absolutely covered in pave & I don’t want to lose any. I take it off to clean, to cook, to lounge at home on my days off, as soon as I put my PJs on at night, when I shower, when I put makeup on etc..
I love this thing WAY too much to let it get bent out of shape.

I usually take it off to shower, but that’s it. Or if I’m doing something really rough on my hands or dirty or something.

@catwoman1701: You sound like me! I take it off as soon as I get home and don’t put it back on until I leave to go somewhere.

I tend to keep it on, especially since my fiance is so paranoid about me losing it! I take it off to sleep and keep it in it’s bed (ring box) on my nightstand.
I shower with mine……but I’m reading that’s not the norm? Is there some “losing ring in shower” myth that I’m not aware of!?!?!?!

I never wear my ring to bed or very often around the house because i love cozy clothes, but the second we leave the house its on and I get gitty every time 🙂

I put mine on when I leave for work and I take it off when I get home from work. If we go out after work (after I already took it off) I will sometimes remember to put it back on. Same with DH- he wears it when he is out of the house.
My parents only take theirs off when they sleep.

Mine never comes off. The only time my parents took off their rings were when they needed to be resized. Other than that, they’re always on as well.
