I haven't tanned in years, but the place I used to go to had a 3 day "ban" too. If you went on Monday, you couldn't go again til Thursday. So I averaged about 2 times a week. In between, I used the Olay gradual tanning lotion to keep my colour up. It doesn't turn you orange or anything, so it's good to use in between.
at the place i go, you can tan every single day.
i usually only buy tanning packages for special occasions. maybe once a year or less?
i usually go a few times a week for no more than a month.
I haven't been tanning lately, but when I was going I would go every other day. The salon I went to you could go once a day.
I'm starting again and I was planning to go like every other day until I had my base and then once a week. I've never heard of a 3 day ban. hmm...
ditto.
Not only that, but I burn in 15minutes with spf 50 on, so yeah, no tanning for me!
No tanning for me. I was pale on my wedding day and proud!
I only tan outside when it's warm and I wear sunblock no matter what. I quit using tanning beds after college because I started getting paranoid about skin cancer and also I hated coming out of a bed smelling like BBQ meat.
The place i went let me go every day (i didn't). More so, making sure your skin is moisturized and minimizing how often you shave will help you "hold" the tan longer.
I usually don't use tanning beds, but I'll probably go a little bit before my wedding. I feel like how often you go depends on what you're aiming for -- i.e., whether you're trying to build up a tan from being pale, or whether you have good color and are trying to maintain it. It seems like if you're trying to get a tan, once every other day or every three days is about right, until you get enough color. After that I think you can probably go about once a week to keep it up.
weird. i go every other day but my place allows every 24 hours.
When I tan indoors (which isn't often), I go about every other day although every tanning place I've ever been to allows you to go once every 24 hours if you want.
Another pale and proud one here! I actually don't know anyone who still tans; it's so dangerous.
ETA: My mother is 54 and has tanned outside since she was 15. She looks much older than one of my aunts, who is turning 51 this year and looks about 35. I'd take pale and wrinkle-free any day.

I haven't tanned in awhile but recently signed up at a new place. I tan really easily so I went Friday morning for 7 min. in a level 5 bronzing bed. Sunday morning I went to the same salon but they told me I couldn't tan again until Monday because not enough time had elapsed. I used to tan every other day at the last place I went. How often should I be tanning to get the maximim effect?
EDIT: IF YOU DO TAN...How often?
