Just thinking the other day…25 sounded so young to be married, but we did it!! Then i thought..lots of people get married around that age and younger! How old were you or how old will you be (first marriages only, please!)

I will be 26, but I always thought I would be in my late thirties! I just found the right person early.

I intended on being 25…but then I got pregnant and we pushed the wedding off for a year.
I just got married a few weeks ago, at 26!

We were both 25. We had been together for 6.5 years by that point so it was time. I always envisioned myself getting married in my mid-late twenties so I’d say it worked out pretty well.
ETA: You may want to update your poll so that you don’t have two 25’s. It’ll throw off your results.

We were 24 and had been together for six years. It was the perfect timing for us.

I’ll be 24, although that’s older than I would have been if I’d had the funds to do it earlier!

I was 26, he was 31. I always figured I’d be late 20s/early 30s when I got married, but then I met my husband, we totally clicked, and he wasn’t interested in being 35 before he got married! Worked out quite nicely.

Ill be 36, and I’m now happy to have had all those years of singledom.

I’ll be almost 28, he’ll be almost 32.

@UpstateCait: Just noticed that and changed it!! Thanks!

I was just married, and I’m 40.
And you might want to add some more ages on your poll after 40. It’s not like you turn 40 and then there’s nothing left 🙂

- Wedding: July 2012 - The Gables Inn, Santa Rosa, CA
I’ll be 23 (24 4 months later) and my Fiance will be 27.
For us the timing is perfect, we have both graduated college, started successful careers, and bought a house together. Getting married is the next step. I don’t feel like we are rushing things (we’ve been together for 5 1/2 years) and I don’t feel like we’ve waited too long.
I think being too young or not has less to do with actual age and more to do with life experiences. I knew at 19 that I wanted to marry this man; but we both knew we weren’t ready– we had a lot of other things we wanted to do both as individuals and as a couple before we were ready to take this next step.

ETA: I was 25 (just turned 26 on Monday) and Darling Husband was 26. He’ll be 27 in August. We’ve been together for just shy of 6 years. We would have celebrated our 6 year anniversary later this month if we hadn’t gotten married! We’ve both been out of college for about 4 years, and Darling Husband starts med school in August, so it was the perfect timing for us…even though I probably would have chosen a more fall-ish wedding in October (best month ever in NC), but June was the best bet for us!
