AHHHHH!!!!
I just found my first gray hair - I'm only 21!
I know it runs in my family to find gray hair early - my sister was 18 when she found her first one.
So, make me feel better. How old were you when you found your first gray hair?
I was definitely under 20 when I found my first and really fought the majority of it for a really really long time but now there's TONS of it (I'm 34). If I let it go you can see it but only if you've been chatting with me for a while. Nothing too major.
I was 19 when I found my first gray hair!! I'm too young for this!
Hahaha my friend spotted my first (at least first in a visible spot) the summer I turned 17. Devastated was not even in it!
I'm 32 now and i have loads of greys. I mean Loads - all evenly distributed across the top of my head. I've none on the back of my head, south of the ear line, if you know what I mean. So unfair. A white streak could be cool, but mine are nice and neatly spread out!
There is one upside - my hair is basically very dark brown, and the grey means, as my complexion changes, I'll ve able to dye my hair a lot lighter than I could before. I'll be blonde by 40!! Hahaha!!
Don't stress about it, chick, be worse if it was fallin out! That's what my FI says when I moan, cos he just wishes he still had a full head of hair!
Okay, so y'all are making me feel a lot better. I was having a bit of a panic attack over here!
I've had white hairs since before high school, maybe even middle school. :( I have black hair, too, so it really stands out. It probably runs in the family but I also think it's related to stress.
I just got mine colored today to cover the grays for the wedding! I started finding them in my early 20s and they just keep coming...
I was 16 when I found my first few.
But I wasn't surprised I would find grays early. My mom was totally gray by 30.
I found my first grey hair exactly on my 20th birthday. That made me feel like I was getting really old. I wasn't a teen any more & it was on th day that I officially get older.
I found my first at 24! It's terrible. I remember literally like shaking. Okay, that's a bit overboard...but still, I was so sad.
I was probably 15 or 16. Not surprised by it at all. My dad's whole family turned Silver before any of them got out of high school. My brother is 34 and 90% Silver now. I have a major streak of all white next to my temple. It looks like Rogue's streak from X-men.
I am glad to find this post- I am 26 and have two gray hairs. :( I think they started at 25, I used to pull them, now... whatever. I think blondes have it easier because they seem to blend it. (My blonde sister seems to be amazed I have some)
I don't have any yet, but my husband has quite a few at 26. They started popping up around 19 or so. He says he doesn't care how gray he is, as long as he has hair.
I think I found my first one when I was a freshman in college so that would be at 18. And now... well, I have a ton :-/ I get self-conscious about it sometimes but there isn't really anything I can do about it beyond dye my hair (which I already do).
My mom started going grey at a young age but even she wasn't as young as I was. I am thankful that the grey hairs I do have are more bright silver than white (at least so far). I kinda think I might like all of my hair to look like that... Just not for another 25 years or so :P
I was 16 and sitting out the back of the house with the fam enjoying some sunshine. And I heard My Mum go Eck a grey hair. That was shortly followed by OUCH, as she ripped it from my head. lolol.
I think we shoudl try to think of it as a good thing, like we've earned them. I think it runs in families. I find it sad that the standards are so high now- I mean, women that are 70 look 40, etc. I am a super natural person, I think there needs to be another revolution for women, where it is okay to sweat, have natural hair, have a wrinkle, etc.
I was definitely around 21/22 when I found my first gray and now I'm about 1/3 gray at 28. It sux, especially when I see women older than me with no grays! :(
i think i've had gray hairs since my early 20s. i first thought it was because i used to dye my hair and i heard that hair can lose pigment altogether and appear white... but now u can see on the crown of my head 10s and 100s of white hairs. i call it stress. LOL
im just lucky i have so many hairs that i dont really notice it. FI does sometimes and tries to pick them!
I was just about 40. Mine are BRIGHT white, not grey.
My Grandmother was 100% snow white by 18 years old!!!
You ladies just wait until you find them "elsewhere" on your body. THEN you'll know what old is!
I have brown hair with a bit of natural red highlights that I love, I have never dyed my hair, but more whites keep popping up. Mine started in college about my sophomore year. They are mostly noticeable when I put my hair up in a pony tail. My husband loves to pull them out though, haha! Early white hair seems to run in my family, we'll see if I dye my hair at some point, still not sure about that!
i know i was before 20 when i first found mine. in fact my hair dresser just found 4 over the weekend when she was giving me a haircut. i asked her if it was visible but with the way i wear my hair which is usually in a ponytial, it isnt visible. but she already told me that if she finds more, she is insisting on dying it cover it.
I have always colored my hair so I never noticed but I have been growing my hair out for the wedding and I have a bunch of white hairs popping up! I am only 23 :( and it's all over the front, it's ok though because I always plan on coloring my hair. Also as a sidenote FI could care less on my appearence (make-up, clothing, whatever) but when he found out I was getting white hair he said I had to color my hair ASAP....I was like wtf? lol
Early 20s for me. I definitely have more than I would like to admit at 25.
I found mine at 29ish.. around there anyway! They are multiplying, but I'm not letting them bother me.. I'll be colouring my hair for the big day. Someone with a full head of gray's.. I think it adds character to their personality! I support the gray hair :) Menobride.. your funny! haha!
I have a nice patch of grays that line the top of my head if you part my hair down the middle and I am 25. Fortunately I can part my hair on the side and no one can tell if I am behind on getting my hair colored!
Wow, glad I'm not the only one! I've been dying my hair for a little over a year now, so I could have been getting them for a while and just not noticed!
I think I was 20 when my friend spotted a gray hair on my head! I didn't believe her so she yanked it out to show me. I haven't noticed one since. I found two on my fiance the other day (he is 26)
im 25. i found one last year and a very prominent one this past weekend!! id rather go grey than loose it though.
I have escape the genetic on my mother's side they either get gray hair VERYYY late or VERYY early. My mom got her's when she was 12 ...my brother got is around 14...he is 26 now and most of his hair in gray :(
funny I was just plucking a gray hair out and telling myself I really need to dye my hair... ugh
I can't remember when I found my first gray, but suffice to say, there is a very good reason at 28 I color my hair every 6-7 weeks!!! (and every 5 weeks, if they are very stressful weeks, sigh).
Age 18 was my first...but this year (age 25) it has gotten significantly worse. I used to be able to pluck them all but now there are just way too many.
Well, i was born with pitch black hair and a headful of grays!! crazy, i know! My hair is dark brown now and i have a lot of gray's and im only 19! it's ridiculous. You can't see them too much when my hair's down, but ive dyed my hair quite a few times to cover them up. We don't know where it comes from, but yeah, gray since birth (:
I'm 56, and haven't found one on me yet. My 28-year-old son has found them on him, though.
Yeah, I think I had at least one since birth! My mom was a hairdresser, so she made sure to tell me that I had at least one gray hair as I was growing up. I've been plucking the ones around my face since I was 43! (Grad School). I now pluck the ones at the crown of my head when I see them too. I might have let them grow out by now, ( I turn 50 in 5 weeks) but I still look at least 10 years younger than that, so I figure I might as well fool people some of the time. ;) besides it's better for job searching if I look younger!
I'm 22 and haven't noticed one yet. BUT I'm naturally blonde so I probably don't notice any if I do have them :)
The boy is Filipino and has very black, Asian hair. i always laugh at his "Asian silver hairs" (I went to a high school that was 50% Asian and all my friends had one or two silver hairs) and tell him he is going gray :p
I found a grey hair when I was 14 and was horrified. I haven't seen one since.
FI, meanwhile, has a TON of grays and whites and has since 18. I think he'll be totally gray by 30...
Age 18- yanked the first one
Age 21- first time someone else commented even though I colored my hair often
Age 28 (now)- I have lots! Though FH has had the same 2 gray hairs for the past 2 years and hasn't sprouted any more.
I am a hairstylist and saw a 21 yr. old with as much gray as me! Damn those genes!
