How old were you when you started TTC and how long did it take you to conceive? Currently, our baby timeline has us waiting until I'm 29/30 to TTC, and I was curious if others have had a shorter time between TTC and pregnancy if you're younger? Just curious.

I was 29 (almost 30) when we started TTC.  I got pregnant on our 3rd cycle of trying, just after my 30th birthday.

This makes me feel better :)  I'm 32 and just started charting ovulation, body temp, etc...  Ready to conceive soon!  (33 in 4 months!)

We are starting in January and I am 28'.  EEE!  I had a hard time deciding if I should go to Grad school first... but then I decided to take a year off and perfect my craft first, so it makes sense to at least stop trying not to.

I'm 26, will be 27 in March. I hadn't had a period from May to Sept but just attributed it to the stress of planning a wedding and trying to keep everyone happy lol. We got married in Sept and had my 1st period a week before the wedding....found out we were expecting on the 12th of Nov almost exactly 2 months after we got married. It was a long shot but we certainly didn't do anything to prevent it and wouldn't change a thing! :)

Wow, this thread DOES make me feel better about our waiting!  I'll be 30/31 when we start trying next year after the wedding.  We'll either try in the Fall or early Winter of 2012/2013.  I'm so excited!  I just can't wait to get off the pill, too (I'll be going off in July - yay)!

I was 25 when we started. It took us 10 months to get a BFP, but we lost it. I'm 26 and we're on Month 14 (I think).

Due to my fertility issues, I'll probably still be 22 or maybe 23 when we try. We're thinking later next year or early 2013. If we wait, I'm significantly cutting my chances, not because of age but because my symptoms get worse and I am NOT up for another LAP. Not fun. Still recovering. Lol.

29 and got pregnant on the first try. Was off the pill for an entire year before we started trying though, and that definitely mattered, my cycles were so messed up for so long..

It's still quite a few years out for us, but we plan to try when we're 26.

I'm the awesome side of the trend...30 when I started.  16 months and counting... No known health issues, normal weight. Argh.  I hope the rest of you are luckier!

I was 30 when we started TTC, got pregnant on month 3 but miscarried early.  We had to wait a little while to start trying again, then I ot pregnant again on cycle 3 post miscarriage (when I was 31).  Baby is due when I'm 31.  I'm glad we waited - we got to enjoy married life and adulthood before having children!

This thread makes me feel a bit better about waiting. I'll be 27 in a couple weeks, won't try til I'm 29, but its four years running NTNT.

Possible silly question: what does NTNT stand for?

@CarolinaCola: I think "not trying not to," meaning that you weren't actively trying to conceive but you weren't trying to NOT have baby, either.

@CarolinaCola: It's basically no contraception and following your cycle closely. Very much, if it happens, it happens. After trying for a few months now, it's pretty easy to see how your cycle goes if it's consistent and regular.

I will turn 26 just after the wedding so we will likely start then. We've owned a home and lived together a while so we feel like we got a lot of the "living together as adults" experience done already. FI will be 29 when we get married so we plan to start pretty much right away. I think at this point we only want to NOT be pregnant until the wedding (so I can drink.. Wow seems horrible but it's going to be a great party and I want to experience it), and then we'll "pull the goalie" so to speak LOL.

We started in Feb 2010 when I was 26, we were finally successful after I turned 28 in Nov 2011.  Hubby is three years older than me.  So it took 21 months, even with no real issues, but eventually with medical help.
