I am so confused. I even went to the wedding fair in my city and talked to a bunch of them and I still don’t know who to choose! I wouldn’t be putting much thought into it, except i’m getting married on New Years and I want people to have a good time!
I’ve emailed a few and gotten some quotes but they all seem to offer the same thing. I’m not sure how I feel about the DJ’s who seem to be more like entertainers and play games and such….but I want someone to be willing to do stuff with our New Years theme including a count down and whatever else we decide to do to make the night awesome!
I got a great price quote from a bigger company that a friend had used and everybody loved….
So bees….how did you decide?

@laurel946: I think it’s really important to meet and interview each of the DJ’s that you’re considering. I’d also advise that you read reviews and talk to those who have previously used the DJ’s. Lastly, I think that it’s better to go with an independent DJ vs. a company with multiple DJ’s, as you don’t know who you might get (I’ve heard about some real “doozies”). Good luck!

we did narrowed it by budget then interviews and then gut filling.

We were at a beer tasting at a warehouse and they had a guy DJ’ing. He was funny and played a great mix of music. We stopped by his booth and talked to him and hired him a few weeks later. He’s become a great family friend now.

I went with a company where former customers left their names and phone numbers as references. It was really nice to be able to talk to people who used the particular DJ that you’re inquiring about!

I used the same DJ that my best friend had at her wedding. I had first hand experience with his style, AND I got a discount for being referred by a friend.

I had a DJ that I really wanted to work with that was a cut above the rest. I couldn’t afford him though so I went with another DJ he recommended.
