@ninjachc:  aw! how did it get so out of hand??  hopefully all those factors will fix the situation, especially if the venue only really holds 100 people!

as for people who invite themselves, tell them your venue is small and your guestlist already made and if you have more room, you would love for them to come.  they might be hurt, but you will be way more pissed/upset if you have 500 people you don’t even want at your wedding!

you don’t know or like many people, you didn’t want to have a big wedding and your venue doesn’t even hold all of your guests inside.  why did you invite so many people??

Are you really asking how screwed you are?  Because inviting 80 more people than your venue can hold is pushing it… a lot.

I understand you are feeling a lot of pressure to invite random family members, etc. but remember that if you are paying, you get to control the guest list.  It is ok to say no.

That said, if you already sent 180 save the dates, you’re pretty much stuck with this guest list.  If you’re over capacity, expect people to be unhappy that you can’t accommodate them.

@ninjachc:  Uh, I love your honesty!!  80 people over is over doing it.  I am surprised with your candor that you have an issue with cutting people from the invites…
