She couldn’t make the Bridal Shower, and the Bachelorette Party was WAAAAY to inappropriate for her to be invited. Here’s what I have in mind, but would love to find more ways to include her….
- Give her more freedom in choosing her dress, as long as its the same fabric and color as the others. (She’s a little fashionista)
- Include her in day-before and day-of rituals including mani/pedi, hair/makeup, relaxing with the gals without her Mom
- For the recessional: triple her up with my brother and sis-in-law. (It feels weird to put her with a 30yr old Groomsman whom she doesn’t know. Im going to triple up the other Bridesmaid or Best Man with 2 GMs to make it work.)
- For entrance to the reception: Have her announced and escorted by her 7yr old brother so he feels included too.
But I’m not sure what else I can do. I’d love to include her in some pre-wedding planning. But she lives 2 hours away and is 10yrs old- she’s got school and other activities. Thoughts?

I think everything you have planned is great and you probably don’t have to do much more. I have a 10 year old daughter. She is excited to just be part of my wedding.

I think what you have planned should be fine. I think she’ll love getting to pick her dress and the mani pedi day…um yes. lol What girl wouldn’t love that?! And no mom? She’ll feel like a grown up hahaha

Agreed, including her on the spa day, and calling her a fashionista as she chooses her dress will be plenty for a 10 year old. I would also have LOVED to hold your flowers during the wedding when I was ten. Anything that you say something like, “Can you do something special for me?” is a yes from an excited ten year girl.

My FI’s little cousin is also going to be 10 years old by the time our wedding day comes, but we are having her as a our flower girl and she could NOT be more excited. I was also thinking of other ways to make it even more special for her so including her on a mani/pedi trip the day of or before the wedding is a great idea and I think I will do that for her! Thanks for sharing your ideas! And everyone is right about a 10 year old just being a part of it is enough her mom tells me she asks every day how many days left till our weddng?! And when she saw her pic and title on our wedding website her mom said she had the biggest smile EVER on her face…that’s just priceless and I wish I could have seen it! 🙂
