Hi! I picked up my dress and feel that it is just too small through the back, under my arms, and through the straps. This is basically one big piece of material, though, leaving no good way to let it out.
II’m afraid the buttons are gonna burst. I can breathe – maybe the issue is that the lace is holding up the dress instead of the bodice? But that doesn’t really help around my back… There is adequate room in the cups (sadface). With a bra, it won’t button.
Who else has a button up and how does it fit? I chose this style largely for comfort so I wouldn’t be pulling up a strapless dress all night, now it is just as bad in another way. Ha!

irishtiger: your dress is gorgeous, I’m jealous! It’s a shame that it doesn’t fit comfortably though. Have you had it altered at all yet? You should get it altered for comfort and a good seamstress will be able to make it work and lie flat on your back, but with enough room under the arms. I don’t know anything about how the dress is held up but I imagine that if it has a structured bodice you’d think that that would be what holds the dress up. Have you taken it to a seamstress for advice?

irishtiger: Hmmm I can see that feeling restrictive or heavy it looks like there isn’t much structure holding the dress up from the waist, just hangs off the one piece of lace! I would talk to a seamstress and see if she can add boning into the midsection of the dress to take some pressure off your neck and back holding the dress up all day!
