I just finally received my wedding ring that I purchased a month ago. Wedding is in 2.5 months! eek
When I tried it on at home, I noticed it may be too loose… It’s not so loose that it comes off, but I feel like the wear may be considered loose in general. I never thought fingers would shrink or get fat before but I now realized that my fingers lost a liiiitle bit of fat as I lost a liiitle bit of weight over the last few months. Really just a little bit.
I generally like my ring to be on the loose side and feel uncomfortable when it fits like a glove (like a wedding dress should fit) because I would like some room for my finger to bloat a little bit haha
But, I am kind of worried if it’s too loose than normal (normal as in what people generally think). If I wear the wedding ring and my e ring together, it feels perfect though. But I will be weaing just the wedding ring most of the time so, I don’t know. The wedding ring cannot be adjusted due to the design.
Do you think I’ll be fine? I don’t plan to lose anymore weight and I tend to bloat sometimes.
How does your ring wear? How do you like your ring to wear?

My Ering is loose. I ended up ordering some ring snuggies to keep it from spinning. It doesn’t fall off, but I worry when my hands are soapy. I just don’t want to resize it, yet. I’d like to lose 5 lbs, and then I also worry about it getting to tight if I get pregnant. So I’m just going to leave it alone!

@Milk and Honey: Right, I also thought if I get pregnant my fingers will bloat like crazy,

I currently have a ring guard on mine. Mine fits snug, but not to the point of discomfort. I personally like for my ring to be able to not fly off (think in terms of ringing your hands or after applying lotion after washing your hands) when doing sudden movements. Not that I’d be walking around all day like that obviously lol, but that is just my level of comfortability. By the same token, I like it to fit loose enough to allow for minor swelling (from salt intake) or higher temperatures during the summer.

My ring will fall off is I shake my hands. It seems to be a size too big so when I first got it I got the ring snuggies. Fiance keeps telling me to let him send it back to get sized but honestly… I don’t want to part with my ring for that long 🙁 not to mention eventually when we have children it will need to be bigger because my fingers will swell… I know 9 months pregnant and having a ring that fits doesn’t compare to the rest of our lives with a ring that fits but… I just got it in April, I’m not ready to part with it yet

I purposefully got my ring very snug. I worry about it falling off. And I like wearing it all the time. And I don’t like rings that spin around my finger. And had no problems with swelling and being uncomfortable this summer. I got to wear it swimming and didn’t have to worry about it!

@gramgeek: have you looked into sizing beads at all?

I try to get mine to where they are easy to get on, harder to get off. Sounds simple but when I worked at a department stores jewelry counter very few people seemed to understand that concept lol. I do NOT want it to fall off for any reason and I hate when a ring spins. & typically unless Im standing in the blazing sun in July or ate a pound of salt my figures only bloat a bit in the morning. And I take ALL my rings off before bed.

I had a size 5 ring and it fell off once when I was shopping! Luckily I found it in my bag later on. I had my ring resized to a 4.5 and so on a hot day, it’s very snug and difficult to get off but a cold day, I can get it off quite easily.

My ring is pretty loose when it’s on, but I have a hard time getting it over my knuckle so it has to be this way. It definitely fits better now that I’m married and I’m also wearing the wedding band. I think the wider the band on your ring is, the snugger it will fit, so wearing my e-ring and my wedding band together make it fit much better.

I think it is ok as long as there’s no chance of it coming off with regular use. Be careful if you’re doing something that makes it more likely to come off (like showering or washing hands).
Mine feels loose at times and then other times it’s extremely hard to take off. I live in Phoenix so it gets very hot in the summer so I like to remember that my finger is bigger in the summer and I get sausagey fingers when I go hiking! Just recently has it started to loosen up..I also have larger knuckles though. I would have to be sized down if it wasn’t for my knuckles.
Especially if you’re saying it fits good with your wedding ring, I don’t think you should have it resized. Just watch out until your wedding. I like to have mine in the middle – loose at times and tight at other times. It’s hard to convince myself to resize it when it does both!

So glad I found this thread. I always have this “situation” with ring sizes. I own many rings and mainly wear sizes 4.5 – 6.5 (on different fingers/hand)….I hate it when my e-ring doesn’t fit properly from summer to winter!
My husband just bought me a beautiful Moissanite ring (my 1st moissy) to wear when I travel on business. It’s size-6 (the smallest they have) but it’s set in rhodium plated S.S. It’s beautiful so I don’t want to return it but it’s a whole size too big for my ring finger!
Does any bee know if jeweler could size S.S.? Will the process damage the moissy stone? And will it be costly? Thanks in advance!
