Probably not.  Most pregnancy symptoms are caused by HCG in your system, and it is unlikely that IF fertilization did occur that you’d have enough HCG to exhibit symptoms.  I actually didn’t have any symptoms at all until after I missed a period.  I was tired, and a tad queasy if I missed a meal.  I didn’t have any real nausea, sore boobs, intense bone crushing fatigue until after 6-8 weeks.

Do you chart or use ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) to determine if/when you ovulated?

Sorry, but not that quickly. It’s not that instant. I started getting some symptoms at 4 weeks (2 weeks after conception) and was sick by 6 weeks.

Just chiming in to say I didn’t have any symptoms and didn’t know I was pregnant until I missed my period. Even now, at 11 weeks, I am still mostly symptom-less.

Also, if you ovulated last week and are expecting your period this Thursday, I’d say you’re chances are fairly low this cycle unfortunately. Once you ovulate you have about 24 hours to conceive before the egg dies.

Good luck! 🙂

A question is only dumb if it’s not asked!  Good luck!

@bridetacular:  At 2 days late you should see a positive on an FRER by now. Good luck!

I would go out and buy a PG test, BUT: unless I’m reading incorrectly, you said you pulled the goalie for the first time a couple nights ago. If you conceived then, it would not show up on a test yet. Unless you conceived before then & had an oops 😉 Good luck!!

@bridetacular:  If you had unprotected sex for the first time four days ago, and you’re already two days late, then that means you had unprotected sex two days before your period was supposed to start. Unless you have a ridiculously short luteal phase, you likely missed ovulation, and the egg doesn’t live that long. Of course, the only way to confirm ovulation is by charting temps. If you don’t chart, you could have ovulated later in your cycle, which would explain the missing period. Late ovulation would be good for you in this case since you didn’t have sex until later 🙂

If you did ovulate roughly two weeks ago (everyone is different), you could still be pregnant, but it would require your protection failing in some way. The only way to know is to take a test, but honestly, in your situation, I would just wait it out, at least for a few more days. Good luck though, and fingers crossed for you!
