Hi Brides or Brides to Be
I am having an August 31st wedding (labor day weekend) I was initally a little worried when booking the venue that a lot of our friends/family might not be able to make it because it is a holliday weekend, but unfortunately it was the only Saturday a year out the venue had avaialble. Most of our friends and family we invited lives within a 1-2 hour radius of the venue.
We just sent out our RSVP cards a week ago…I put postage on the return envelope hoping that would encourage people to send them back right way.
We marked them invitiations to RSVP by Aug 1st
I am inviting 230 people
So far one week later I have recieved 29 yes 3 no’s.
Should I have had more back already?
How long does it usually take to send them back?

I haven’t sent invites so I haven’t had to deal with RSVPs yet – but I can tell you don’t worry yet! It’s only a week, unless I’m actually expecting something I only check my mail about once a week. Some of your guests may not have even seen your invite yet!

@pinkymoon that is true; unless i know i am expecting something I really only check my mail once a week

I have sent our out 3 weeks ago and only got 4 back and 2 answers by conversation.
I wouldn’t worry.

We sent ours out probably the end of May. I don’t remember now, but that sounds right. And we have a couple stragglers yet, but most of them are back now. We got a lot right away, and then a constant flow basically until now. Several got mailed on the deadline date, which was July 1st.

I think that’s a great amount to have back in the first week. And mind you, this past week was a holiday week. I bet people travelled or relaxed and probably haven’t gotten to the invitation yet. I think I’ll be stunned if I receive any in the first week. HA

You’ve had a much higher number of respnses than us so far. You’re making me worried now!
We sent ours out 2 weeks ago, and I have only heard back from 6 families so far ( a total of 15 guests in those 6 families). But two of those 15 guests are my parents, who were the first to RSVP and I obviously already knew they were coming! lol

I wouldn’t worry – if you sent them out a week ago, factoring in a couple of days for them to receive the invites, lots of people probably only just got them.
I bet you’ll get a ton back in the last week of July.

I got a couple RSVP’s back right away, the nothing, then the bulk of them a few weeks later throughout the week, and then a few that trickled in even after the respond by date. Some people like to send them back right away, some have to get calendars, some simply forget to send them back until later, and so forth. I wouldn’t panic just yet!

The whole point of putting an RSVP deadline is so that you wait until that deadline to get them. In my experience, you get a majority of the yeses in the first couple weeks, and the no’s come in at the end. You probably won’t have them all in even by your August 1st deadline. We gave people 2 weeks over the deadline, then started calling people for their responses.

Thanks ladies for the words of wisdom…i just guess i got worried. and of course even the no’s are upsetting

I wouldn’t be too worried yet. I am terrible about sending back RSVPs, I usually confirm verbally waaaaay before I remember to send it back.

I didn’t even get half back by the deadline I put on them. Had to hassle people for them.
I think for the first week I got back like 2 or 3 and that was it. Very slow.
