So our wedding is August 10, 2013 and we were thinking about sending out or STD’s this December 2012 with our Christmas cards. I’m not sure if this is too early? And who exactly do I send them to? Only close friends & fam far away guests or everyone?
Were planning on sending out a first and second round of invitations.. I know this sounds awful but where a lot of people live across the country, if they can’t come we’re sending out invites to the guests we’d love to come but may not have room for before getting the first rsvp’s back. Help!!!!!

I heard 6-10 months is ideal, so you are fine. Any sooner and people will get confused, any later people will think they are an invite!

My wedding is Sept and we are sending ours out at the end of January. I would wait until January 1 so they don’t get lost in the holiday shuffle (lost in the mail, people out of town, think it’s just a holiday card, etc).

Sounds fine to me! Not too early.

We’re getting married on the same date and we’re planning on doing the same thing!:) we’re hoping to cut down on postage and just hand out the STD over the holidays when we’re seeing people anyways. I think you’re timing is perfect:)

@blushingbride1013: I don’t think that’s too early. I understand doing 2 rounds of invites….are the second round people local? I’m assuming you aren’t sending them STD’s then and I worry that those people might not be able to make it on short notice…once again, I’m assuming first round invite RSVPs are due 2 months out, then second round invite RSVPs a month out.
