So, my boyfriend and I have been ring shopping for a few weeks now, (he doesn’t want to pick something I don’t like, so we’re doing the whole process together) and I am SO lost. Every ring I see looks…fine. Not bad, but not “me.” I want something unique, maybe vintage-y, and not princess, but that’s really all I know. Did you know your ring when you see it, or did you just know what you wanted going into the process? I feel like I’ve tried on a hundred rings, but do I have to try on a hundred more?!

JackieDO: Do you know what shape you want? That might help narrow it down. What about antique rings? Have you looked on Etsy at all? Vintage rings are so unique. You know you most likely won’t see another ring exactly like your is you go vintage.

I also wanted something slightly unique, but when we went to the jewelry store, there wasn’t really one that stood out as “the one” (besides FI himself). They are all so pretty! Now that I’m on weddingbee, I’m glad I didn’t get one that was too simple because a lot of them look very similar! I actually gave FI a multiple choice, so I was still surprised. No matter what kind of ring you get, it will still be a treasure!
Here’s my ring.

I got to choose my own engagement ring but when we went to look for ring I wasn’t expecting it anyways I couldn’t decide but than the sales lady picked out this ring and I looked at it and fell in love. The ring was so me.

I designed mine. I picked one I loved a couple of months back, but the jeweler said I should just design my own, so I did. I incorporated aspects of the first one I picked out and then we kept tweaking until I thought it was perfect!

I picked my own ring and it was made easier with the fact that I knew which jeweler I wanted it from and that I wanted a classic solitaire. I tried on a few styles but when I tried what I ultimately chose, I just knew it was the one. I’d try to find some styles you like online and go from there. When you find it, you’ll know.
