I voted exhausted. I work 12 hour night shifts. I’m at work from 7pm-7:30am, get home around 8am, and pretty much just get ready for bed.

I’m usually pretty tired after work, but once I shower and eat dinner I feel a lot better and can do things.

It depends. Some days I’m knackered othersnI have energy to do things.

My days can vary I could be just in my office doing paper stuff, or I could be rushing around to meetings all day I.

I would say I’m a little tired. I work as a territory sales manager covering two counties so I’m on the road quite a bit – approximately 650 miles per week. I am up by 5, go to the gym, shower there, get in my territory by 9am and usually leave my territory by 4pm and get home by 5pm. Most days I’m in bed by 10 which isn’t early enough. DH is a night owl so it’s hard enough getting him into bed by 10. Ideally I think going to bed by 9:30 would be the best for me. I have to get up early to workout otherwise I’ll loose motivation by 4pm.

I’m exhausted. I just live in a continual state of exhaustion.

I voted exhausted and can’t do anything else. My days at work are intense so I blame that, or it’s my age.

@Amayansong:  I’m sure if I hit the gym on the way home I would be exhausted too! I’m gonna try to go to the gym in between my work shifts and classes. We will see how that works out tho! I’m sure I’ll be completely worn out by the end of the day lol But already go to bed at 1030 as it is 😛

@Amayansong:  FI is raring to go. I’m a hermit on work nights.  I like to go to the gym, come home put on sweats and veg out. I hate going to the store, eating out, seeing other people, etc etc on weeknights.

I’m not necessarily tired, but I don’t want to do anything. I’ve just spent 10 hours (including commute) away from home so the last thing I want to do is spend any more of my already short evening doing anything but relaxing in my awesome house in my pjs with my awesome cat, who missed me all day!

For me it really depends on a ton of factors. I work different shifts every day. On Mon. I work 2 pm to 10 pm for example and usually get up around 9, get a few things done then go to work. When I get home I’m wide awake, and I usually can’t get to sleep until around 4 am or so. Tues. I usually work 10 am to 6 pm, get up around 8:30 or so and just get ready then go to work. I’m usually ok Tuesday night, can get a few things done, and usually cannot fall asleep any earlier than midnight. Weds. I used to work 7 am to 3 pm, wake up at 5:30 am and those days were HELL. By then, the 4.5 hours of sleep from Monday night usually catch up to me, add in the 5.5 hours from the night before and the early wake up and some days I almost don’t feel comfortable driving home (I have about a 1/2 hour commute) because I’m so tired. In order to actually be able to get anything done on Wed. night. It got a little better when my Wed. shift got changed to 8:30-4:30. Thurs and Fri it really depends on what else I had going on during the week. I find that if the weekend and few days earlier were really busy, or if I had a hard time sleeping or couldn’t get my Wed. post work nap in (or took too long of a nap) then I’d need a nap Thurs or Fri evening to do anything. if I got enough sleep the rest of the week and didn’t have much going on, then I was usually good. Thurs I usually work 9-5 and Fri. 8:30-4:30.

@Amayansong:  Ha, I probably should have gone into a few more specifics! I’m a nurse, and I work 12-hour nights…but I only do it 3 times a week (36 hours is considered full-time at the hospital). When I work my days all in a row, that’s pretty much all I do…work, come home, sleep, get up, go to work, repeat. I usually get up between 3pm and 5pm (leave for work around 6:20). I’m lucky if I see DH (awake) between my shifts (sometimes the only times we see each other between my shifts, the other person is asleep). BUT, I do have 4 days (nights, really) off every week. They aren’t always the same days, since my schedule rotates on a 6-week schedule. I have anywhere from 1 to 4 days off in a row. Currently I’m on a 3-off stretch. So I do get some good time off for DH and I to spend together and to see friends and family!
