I’m stuck in a pickle. We’re technicall not engaged. There was no proposal. . . it kind of became a mutual thing (which was fine with me) . . . Most of our family & friends know that we’re engaged already and they absolutely accept!
I’m having a destination wedding (Disney) and I can’t start to plan without knowing who’s coming (or not). So far We have ~20 YESES. I need to know if the rest of the family is coming, but I don’t feel comfortable calling each one and putting them on the spot.
How would you approach?
:: Send Save the dates?
:: Send broadcast email?
:: Call each one?
:: Throw a party? (What kind of party?)

You can send save the dates or save the date via e-mail like Miss Daffodil….
It doesn’t have to say you’re engaged…just that you are getting married! Maybe you can say, "please let me know if you are interested"
or you can have a rsvp that says something disney related like
Yes – will have my ears on
No – I’m Goofy enough to miss this
Maybe – still deciding

A poll doesn’t sound too bad! All they need to do is click right??
Although even clicking is too hard for them damnit!

Maybe do a save the date/invite type thing, saying you’re getting amrried, on this date in this place and you’d love for them to join. Then provide them with info they might need to check the prices and stuff as to where they should/could stay while there.
I know that if I were invited to a destination wedding I would want as much info up front as possible so I can make sure it’s affordable for me at that time. This way too you would avoid a bunch of the same phone calls/e-mails asking a ton of questions.
I love the options that Erika came up with for the RSVP!

You could maybe do an email/save the date announcing the wedding, date, locaton etc. Maybe with a note about the ‘count’ being important for planning purposes and for them to think about it. Follow that up with a personal phone call where they can ask you any quesiton they have and you can get a solid answer 🙂
