I had a part on the reply card about dietary restrictions – allergies, that kind of thing.  I didn’t invite anyone that was a strict vegan or anything, but I wasn’t sure about allergies and stuff.

@kb7:  Perhaps next to ‘Accepts with pleasure’ do a little box and ‘vegetarian preferred’ or just ‘vegetarian’ ?

@kb7:  I would ask if they have any dietary restrictions, that would include vegetarians, vegans, and other non-traditional food habits. Cover all of your bases.

I would put in a menu reply card. They can check their option and mail it back with the RSVP.

The reason I suggest this is because I’m not strictly vegetarian, but I always take the vegetarian option if I can.

@kb7:  no.. They probably wouldnt… But if they do know people have allergies or are even celiac they will take extra care in preparing foods

You’d have to ask to know, but at the wedding of a friend this Fall, the entire buffett was gluten free.  The only gluten was in the passed appetizers.  So, my other friend who is celiacs, ate from the buffet and was fine.  It was meat, veggies, potatoes, etc and they guaranteed GF.

Now, at another wedding I went to with same friend, another buffet wasn’t guaranteed GF so they made her a special plate and sent to our table for her to eat.

So, just depends on which way they go.  It’s like the vegetarians, they’ll do up a special plate if they have to.  Most places are accomodating.
