Here's the image I used to ask my girls. I just put "I have a very important question to ask you... (see attached)" in the body of the email and then had these as the attachement.

Ok... I'm having issues with posting the picture. I'm usually really good at this. I think I'm losing my touch! Anyway. Here's the link.

Perhaps not that original, but I bought some pretty silver double frames (one with a space for two pictures). On one side I put a picture of me and the girl, and in the next frame I drew cute little stick figures of me in a veil and her with flowers and a champagne glass and had "Will you be my bridesmaid?" arched over the stick figures. I had her name and mine below that with the wedding date. This way we can put a picture of us on my wedding day in the frame... and then hopefully in the future put one of us on her wedding day in the other one.

I bought mine cute cards and a little charm for a necklace off of etsy. It wasn't anything extravagant, but I think they all really liked it.

Unfortunately all of my bridesmaids are out of town and I didn't know whether I'd be able to ask them in person. Our wedding was also out of town (for everyone) in a really beautiful mountain resort town. So I got postcards from there and wrote something special to each of them, asking at the end if they would be my bridesmaid. I was actually able to give 2 (out of 3) of them theirs in person, and the other person received hers in the mail. But, for her, I put a big "CALL ME BEFORE YOU READ THIS" at the top, so we were on the phone when she went through it.
