Fascinating! Just googled it and it's on wikipedia too! I'm not asian, but I do turn red easily (when I drink, cry, or get stressed - all of which are bound to happen on the big day!)... Definitely worth trying!
OMG i had NO idea! I'm scared to even touch a GLASS of wine without turning red! I know it's because we're missing that stupid enzyme that metabolizes alcohol, but I REALLY want to be able to have a drink without looking hammered. I know this was posted 9 months ago but BOY am I EXCITED!

Hmm...would this work for turning red, but not due to alcohol? Like when I have to speak in public or walk down the aisle? Because OMG, I know it's gonna happen. Everything makes me turn red. Thinking about turning red makes me turn red. UGH too good to be true, I'm sure. I'd give anything to stop turning red!!!!!! 
Oh my goodness, I've never heard of this trick before! I'm definitely trying it. I always turn bright red after just a sip. And after having one glass of wine, my entire body gets red splocthes everywhere. Completely gross, but super excited about this!
It totally works! My FI is half asian and is definitely missing the enzyme, haha. He will definitely be popping some Pepcid on our wedding day! :)
LOL, omigod, that's great...I didn't know there was a solution. I start turning red with the first sip, and depending on how much, (usually just takes 2), I get red all the way down to my stomach, and red splotches on my chest, and of course my dress is strapless! This is great, thanks for posting!
HAHA!!! I totally use PEPCID AC all the time! I used to carry some in my purse!! :) works like a charm!!! I'm a person who turns red from one sip of beer...but if I take PEPCID AC 20-30 mins before...I am perfectly fine!
I have never heard of this term before. Maybe it's because I don't drink that much and it usually isn't a problem. But this is good to know.
Fi does this all the time right before we go out drinking with friends!! It works wonders!
This trick definitely works! Tagamet and Pepcid AC are my best friends when I'm out drinking with friends. I introduced this to all my Asian friends a few years back and it's a miracle. I don't get that tomato-red face or the throbbing feeling I get in my head. Pepcid AC has chewables so you can pop it in without looking like you are taking some meds before drinking.
you can also have a dose of pepto bismol. combined with 2 pepcid acs, i was a bridesmaid and had 14 drinks (throughout the whole day) without turning red. and I usually do turn red with even one drink.
lol this thread is hilarious!!! I'm half chinese and definitely get red after a drink or two, especially when dancing. I'm going to try this out!!! haha
I only found out about this after my wedding. I wish I had known in advance!
ps. Though I am not asian, I get the 'glo bad! And Penguin? Not flushy/glowy at all! unfair.

Hi there! My husband and I finally married and just got back from our honeymoon.
Just wanted to share a tip on how we avoided the asian flush in our wedding pics, PEPCID AC!
I'm sure many of you know this already, but just thought I'd share. Also Miss Martini said that you should take it 20 minutes before your first drink for this to work.
