Basically your venue should walk you through it.  I would first set up a meeting to meet the manager, see the venue, sample whatever needs to be sampled etc..  During this time you’ll discuss prices, your wants/needs, etc…

   Sometime after the first meeting the venue will either send/ask you to pick up/email you a contract- generally they ask for a deposit with this.  A month to two weeks before your event the final payment will need to be made.  Basically, your venue will walk you through the process.  Different places require different things- call up the venue and ask how they work so you’re prepared for each of your meetings.  🙂  Goodluck
