June is a big month for us. It’s our first IVF cycle, and it’s our first wedding anniversary. I’m not sure how to celebrate our anniversary. DH is not big on receiving gifts (and I can’t think of anything “paper” that he’d like). We like to go out of town for a long weekend, but we’re trying to save money since we’ll be spending so much on fertility treatments. And it’s likely that we’ll find out whether our IVF was successful on or around our anniversary date. As amazing as it would be to celebrate a BFP on that day, if we don’t (or if a BFP later becomes a MC), I don’t want to our anniversary to be linked to that pain. So I’m thinking I’d like to do something totally and completely unrelated to TTC. For a man who doesn’t like gifts. When we don’t have a lot of money to spend on expensive activities. We regularly will spend an afternoon at the park, so I’m hoping to do something out of the ordinary. I’m stumped.

Hi! Can you plan something that will be fun regardless of your BFP status? So, something that doesn’t center around drinking, or an activity that you wouldn’t be able to do if pregnant………..hmmmmmmmmmm….
I love the idea of ordering a do-over of the top tier of your wedding cake, plan a visit to the location of your ceremony/reception, eat dinner at the reception restaurant?
Plan a night out stay-cation? Have you checked out AirBnB? You might be able to get an affordable night away in your same city that will save on travel costs, but still feel like you went far away.
Go on a hike, and pack a picnic? Check out a concert?
I’m sorry none of these are very creative. I hope someone responds with some good ideas!

@HopefulForLittleOne: Well, DH’s favorite gift is a BJ ;)…but I would check out Groupon for some deals around your area if you are pressed for money. We travel a lot and DH has a “fetish” for journals so I got him an old unused leather journal for our 1 year. I was thinking of writing a page in for each year we are married and recapping that year.

What about a day at the zoo? (I know you are both animal lovers). Maybe a full day of sampling different food trucks in your area (my life revolves around food!) A staycation would be fun too.
This may be dorky but For our first anniversary (paper) I got DH a picture of the beach we got married on that had the stars and moon exactly how they were on our wedding night, with a line from our first dance song written on the bottom from http://indigonight.com/ (it comes with the coordinates on the back of the frame) Their prices are really reasonable.
