I’m having alteraions begining this week…first fitting wednesday.
The salon owner had commented when I purchased my dress that she prefers french bustle. This took me back because I’ve always thought they looked awful…then I saw the tutorial above and it doesn’t look bad on that dress, so I’m thinking maybe it was the way the seamstress does it it can turn out good or bad???
So I want to to know, what kind of bustle did you choose and do you think different ones looks better depending on dress style?
Here is a picture of the back of my dress…all lace as you can see, i want to show it off not hide it 😉
and here is the train…i love the lace!

@beautifulmama28: I would have the woman at your alterations show you how each would look when bustled and then you’ll know what works best.
My dress they actually did that before ordering for me (because I was debating choping the train off entirely) and they showed how different details would be shown with each bustle. I think that would be the best way for you to decide… see for yourself! 🙂

I think bustles are a personal choice, but also by fabric. I think on your dress a french bustle would look fantastic with the lace. I chose a french too, to highlight the dress ruffles.

I agree that you should have your alterations consultant show you how a few different bustles would look – totally preference based! 😀
