I'm not sure what color yours is - I have a few. The ones with the darker handles & white canvas tend to bleed color into the white a little but it wasn't too bad. Mine are so old & beat up that I just throw them into the machine in cold with some woolite. They'll never be good as new again though. I definitely wouldn't put them in the dryer - I think the canvas might shrink.
I'd try bringing them to the dry cleaner too.
My FI used to work at L.L. Bean and we have a few of those bags. He's been washing them on gentle cycle with only a little soap and air drying and they've been fine. Ours are the plain canvas colored ones and one has a monogram on it. I would think you caould also use a brush with oxy clean and water and then hose them down to rinse.
Thanks ladies - mine is a melon orange (light color) with canvas color bottom and monogramming. Maybe I should get an oxybrush...

Hey hive! Does anyone have an LL Bean beach bag/tote?
The tags say to "spot clean only." After a week in Bermuda, the beach bag needs a little more than that. I am tempted to wash alone, cold, in a hand wash cycle in the dryer, and then stuff with towels and dry it (to keep the shape.)
Any suggestions?
