i honestly think it's cool and part of the "vibe" of the venue... is there anyway you could maybe get theme relevant posters or even old timey posters from the time the venue was built and affix it with the glue putty (that wipes right off) to customize it?
If you can't hang draping fabric, can you put up your own posters? I can't tell how many posters there are or what size, but I can totally see large blown up images in line with whatever your theme is hanging over them and looking awesome. :)
Or to build on Crebre's idea, do banners with your logo and put them up with that stuff... Sticky-tac? Is that what it's called? Or blow up your engagement pics on a large scale printer (many print places like the UPS Store and Kinko's have them) and use those!
If all else fails, you could do what I'm doing and just light up the tables and overhead so that no one notices :) (We are doing some draping, but it won't be terribly noticeable)
@cinemaparadiso: sticky tac!! that's the name!! Ohh the logo would be great, but i'm not so sure how great it'd be on like 20 windows?
@marigold: LMBO!!!
@crebre maybe like 5 different logos? or the date, clever wedding sayings on different banners, a la the hello! lucky owner's wedding featured in MS Weddings? (I hope someone else remembers that wedding. I was soooooo lovin' it)
how deep are the windows? You could get tension rods and put up curtains in the windows too (although I actually like the poster suggestion better, haha) if you're set on fabric.
@cinema: yeah i love that, or it could be something like newspaper headlines (if you know good graphic designers, but i think with certain programs you can do it yourself) and you could have like Boy Meets Girl and then pix from your engagement shoot or even make it look like you are on the cover of the Married and Happy Magazine, Blissfully Beautiful, Chicly Sophisticated (you get the idea) and have the blow ups all around
But yes I like the five different logos as well!!
@goosegg1001: what do you think? we've taken the idea and run with it lol!!
haha Oh man, wedding planning must melt my brain. I honestly never thought of covering the posters with posters!
I love that idea! I really didnt want to hide the windows because I love the vibe of the venue.
Im thinking maybe some type of timeline idea. The future Mr and I have known each other for 9 years so we have quite a lot of pictures together. I believe there's around 20 windows I want to cover.
Anyone have any idea how much poster sized prints cost?
Im going to need to do some hard core searching for inspiration photos.
I appreciate the help! and thanks for not telling me Im crazy. I know most people wont notice, but I know its all I see in the pictures if I dont cover them.

Our wedding reception will be at a gorgeous train station but one thing is really bothering me... The train station has some businesses and the windows are decorated with ugly posters and flyers. Id like to cover these up. (taking them down isnt an option). I originally thought some type of draping would work, but the room is tall and I definitely couldnt afford to drap floor to ceiling, and only draping half way would look odd (at least it does in my head).
Here's a picture I found online (so I have no idea who is sleeping on the bench! haha)
