For those of you who have worked toward a healthy body image, what has worked for you? I grew up a chubby kid and have always struggled with body image, although I’ve been at a healthy body weight since high school. I recently lost 10-15 lbs and am happy with the number on the scale but not the mirror. I am going to work on gaining muscle tone because that is my main issue, but I want to learn to accept myself with or without it. I’m 5’4″ and 112, I eat pretty healthy and am successfully working on creating a healthy relationship with food, and I want the same with my body! I don’t actively hate my body like I have in the past, but I can’t help but look in the mirror and feel dissatisfied and see every bump and bulge.
I’m not at a level of dissatisfaction where I would need professional help, but I’d love some strategies that I can use on my own.
