how to cut cake w ribbons?

Yup, you have to take off the ribbon to cut the cake.

Which is why I had my “ribbon” made from fondant – I didn’t want to have to deconstruct my pretty cake in front of everyone to cut a slice.

They remove the ribbons before you cut.

@heavenslight:  Good question, Im having ribbon on my cake too, and I hadn’t even thought  about how I would cut it.  Thanks 🙂

This wasn’t really an issue for us, I think we just found the end of the ribbon and moved it a little bit to get one slice out.

We did a fondant ribbon as well on our cake.

The ribbon needs to be removed before cutting.  So the cake has a good display and look to it, but the cutting of it is awkward.

I’m also having a ribbon on my cake and was wondering the same thing.  Hopefully the ribbon is easy to get off!
