@StL.Ashley:

I would recomend to go with simple and elegant flowers and candles, with maybe an interesting table cloth – sequins or a cool colour.

I did find some ideas that might be helpful, I googled Wedding Cocktail Hour Decor.

(obviously in your pick of colours ect…)

I like how in this pic there are examples of the two sized tables.

I hope this helps. Smile

@StL.Ashley:  72″ rounds are tough when the tables aren’t set for dinner!  Can you switch them to 48″ rounds?  Since you don’t need to fit elaborate place settings at the tables you could seat 8 at each.  Or a combination of 48″s and 60″s with (seated with 8 & 10 chairs each)?

I think a black cloth with a striped runner might help cut the 72″s down to size visually.

Good luck!

You could do some sort of placemat or an order of events card or something like that.  But I agree with @laura.batty – simple will be classy.

@StL.Ashley:  How about plates of goodies at the tables? Cakes, cookies, nuts, cold aps (Plates of cheese/crackers, fruit, etc). Google “edible centerpieces”, there are so many options. Then a small stack of ap plates & napkins, silverware at each.  In other words, use the tables as a part of your ap stations & encourage guests to graze around.
