I am getting a bit of a headstart on how to decorate our ceremony space for this September. The ceremony will be in this circle on a vineyard property. We anticipate fitting in 70 chairs on and around this circle. I’m not sure if we will try to wrap the seats around the far end of the circle (the more rectangular section)? or will try to make an aisle through the center.
The wedding colors generally are ivory, black, light yellow, gray with touches of red.
Ceremony is 5pm so still quite light.
We have a four poster altar available to us which is bare wood with enough space for us to stand before it.
How would you decorate this space? Make it romantic? Use the trees? ANY suggestions would be most welcome!

I can’t really see 70 chairs sitting on theer but maybe they will, has it been done? The only thing I can really picture is hanging something from the trees. I would say christmas lights because it would make it so romantic but if it’s still light out you might find something else. I love the space though!

The hosts of the space have told me that it will fit 70 but I am also dubious on that too.
I love string lights! Do you think they would be “lost” in the 5pm light?

Perhaps a spiral set up like:
There are about 70 chairs in this pic. Lanterns from the trees would be nice too.

@yellowballoon: my first thought was to hang a chandelier fom that tree that kind of hangs over the middle over the circle. It would also be really pretty to get those crystal garlands that throw rainbows and hang/drape them through the trees. I guess my main point is utilize the trees!! It depends on your taste and wedding style what exactly you would hang there are so many options (:

I don’t think you will be able to fit 70 chairs completely within the circle. But, I wouldn’t waste any time worrying about that either. You can use the rectangular space. You can also add extra rings of chairs outside the paved area.
Lights are always pretty, but they won’t really be visible at 5 pm. If you put them up, it would still make a great site for pics later in the evening..
The two trees in the foreground are perect for hanging garland or lights. You could also string a rope between the trees then use that to hang paper lanterns, or pomanders
You could center your arch under lanterns hung like this, then use your wedding colors to decorate the arch.
Something simple like this is very elegant. Just drape a long piece of fabric from the trees.
