We are using a small, 2-tiered cake for display and cake cutting and then sheet cakes in the back. Usually, at weddings I’ve attended, there is a whole “cake table” to display the cake. This would seem a little silly since our cake is so small. Would you suggest displaying it on another table, like the cookie table or guest book table? Or if we do display it on a table on it’s own, what else could we include to make it look more decorative? Candles? I will try to post a pic of the cake to give you an idea. Thanks!!

@jennygrl070: I think dead centre in the cookie table would look really nice! I’m doing a small cake as well, and I think that’s how we will be setting up ours.

Our cake was fairly small too, 3 tiers. I bought a cake stand and they put it on a small round table by tiself with a couple loose flowers spread around the stand and candles. I thought it looked great! I would definitely recommend a tall cake stand like the one you linked because that will make it seem bigger (which is the reason I bought a cake stand in the first place). 😉

I had the same prob! It’s only a small wedding, but I wanted a big cake.
So we’re having a 3-tier cake BUT the bottom two tiers are dummies. We keep the top layer for the 1st anniversary and serve a sheet cake from the kitchen. Also, our cake is a chocolate shard cake, so cutting and presenting it nicely would be tough.
