i am trying to cut my wedding guestlist without being really rude to anyone's friends or family and im a big fan of the "B" list option... but i'm not quite sure how to go about it? Do i send out wave one and then if i get nos i send out wave two? Will they have enough time to RSVP? What if i send out invites and none of my A list declines? With the way that my A and B lists are going.. A list is nothing but family and B list is nothing but friends..... So if i get no A list declines.... does that mean i dont get to have any friends at my wedding??

    see... confusing...

Okay.  I would send them out in waves.  For example send the A listers out 8 weeks in advance.  As you get no's you can send a trickle of the B's out which should still be in the allotted time.  Usually you will get declines, no matter how positive you are that the person is coming, so I wouldn't worry about that.  However, I think you should be prepared for the reality that some of your close friends won't be able to come and you may have to make an A and B list of your B list...

Good luck, I am sure there are others who will comment and have great ideas as well!

Definitely send out in waves.  We had two separate RSVP cards with different dates so they didn't look like they were second wave. It just looked to them like we were slackers on sending out invites. It worked well for us. We could have done a third wave, but we chose to spend less money have less people. Woo-hoo!

Still a lot of people, but not nearly as many.
