So our reception venue was selected because of location and lack of options… looking back, I wish we had gone elsewhere but its too late, so I’m trying to make the best of it.
I’ve been trying to figure out how to dress up the doorways, ceiling, etc. The thing is, I don’t like tulle. I loathe it actually, which is why I’m not wearing a veil.
So how the heck am I going to dress the place up without loads of tulle? Any suggestions?

Draping with fabric would work really well as well as uplighting. With the lights down low and uplighting done, no one would really b ebale to tell the difference. I’d use tons of candlelight, draping and lighting.

Consider sheer chiffon or sheer chiffon nylon ( which is cheaper and still looks good) Its a nice inexpensive to seriously glam up a place and a lot cheaper if you do it by yourself. I just about 64 yards for 106 dollars from a recommend wholesale vendor in town. Ask you vendor for recommendations if you are buying a lot of fabric – also consider Ebay for larger purchases as well – you can always work out a deal in this recession like I did.
I saved $400 by doing simply the courtyard on my own – the hall part I had to hire someone because it’s an open ai, vaulted ceiling hallway.
