I am having my regular gal do my hair. I found her (seriously) by walking up to a woman in the grocery store and asking where she had her hair done. I saw here there a lot, and it always looked great. I have moved often in the past 20 years, and that's generally what I do, so its the only suggestion I have. Find someone with fabulous hair and go talk to whoever is responsible. Its likely that any really good salon can cover both...
Have you tried "herecomesthebride" -- their recommendations are usually pretty good. I've been scheduling previews with hair stylists and make-up artists to see what they have to offer. I suggest doing the same.
Hello,
I found an amazing makeup artist/hair stylist in the MD/DC area: her name is Audrey Bethards. She's a bit pricey, but totally worth it! I just had a trial with her and she's brilliant! If you want, I can email you the pictures so you have an idea of her work.
I found my hair/make-up person on craigslist. She's in Maryland and pretty reasonably priced. Here's her website:
Hello! I am a Maryland bride! I just went to my hair and makeup trial yesterday and LOVED my hair and makeup not people. They are not cheap, but they work very well together and so pleasent to be around! My hair person is Giselle (www.hairbygiselle.com). She is in Rockville, but she will travel. My makeup person is Kim Giammaria (www.beautymark.biz). She is located in Lorton, VA, but she travels your wedding site too! They both do countless weddings, and brides often hire them together because they look is very classic. They were both recommended as top wedding vendors in the Washingtonian Magazine (local, somewhat snobbish magazine that often rateis physicians, restaurants, etc). Hope that helps!

How did everyone go about finding their makeup artists and hair stylers for the wedding (if you are going to have one)? I don't really have any place that I like where I go to get a haircut on a regular basis and I don't know any brides from MD or MA area to ask for a referral. I am looking for someone in the MA area for an engagement shoot and another individual in MD area for the wedding. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look or recommendations on someone that they used in MD or MA that they loved?
